Barnes & Noble Cuts Pricing For Nook Tablet, Nook Color

The Barnes & Noble Nook tablet and Nook Color devices have received price cuts just in time for the holiday shopping season. The Nook Tablet will now be sold for just $159 while the Nook Color comes in at a price of $139.

The new pricing starts today, November 4, with the devices being offered via the company’s website and at nearly 700 Barnes & Noble locations. Buyers can also pick up the devices at Nook.com.

The Nook Tablet offers 8GB of storage or 16GB for $179. The Android powered device allows buyers to read books, watch TV shows and movies, and browse the web while using various downloadable apps. The Nook Color features a 7-inch e-reader that is perfect for reading books and magazines while watching movies, browsing the web, and reading email.

According to Jamie Iannone, President of Digital Products at Barnes & Noble:

“Just in time for the holidays, these new lower prices make NOOK a great gift for anyone in the family. With everything from interactive children’s books to the best collection of top 100 magazines in rich color, NOOK is perfect for anyone who likes to read.”

The Nook devices also offers “always free” support when customers are inside of Barnes & Noble bookstores. Using their personal Nook, customers can read books without taking them off the shelves while access to those titles are not available after customers leave the story without first purchasing the title.

For customers not familiar with the Nook systems, Barnes & Noble employees throughout the country offer in-store demonstrations for interested buyers.

The newest price cuts to the Barnes & Noble line arrive just three months after the company’s last Nook Tablet and Nook Color price cuts.
