Green Day Releases ‘Twilight’ Music Video

Twilight fans got another glimpse of the highly anticipated movie, Twilight: Breaking Dawn – Part 2, today with the release of Green Day’s music video for the song The Forgotten.

The music video intertwines footage of Billie Joe Armstrong, Mike Dirnt, and Tre Cool with shots from the new movie. The video starts with Edward (Robert Pattinson) playing the piano for Bella (Kristen Stewart) and their daughter Renesmee (McKenzie Foy) before Armstrong starts singing.

Armstrong sings:

“Where in the world are the forgotten / They’re lost in side your memory / Your dragging on, your heart’s been broken / As we all go down in history”

Green Day’s involvement with the Twilight franchise may seem a little strange, but the band said that they were honored to be involved with the soundtrack.

Green Day bassist Dirnt said:

“When we were asked to be part of the ‘Breaking Dawn – Part 2’ soundtrack, we readily agreed because the films are an insane cultural phenomenon. We have always been impressed with the way the ‘Twilight’ soundtracks are carefully curated.”

In addition to Green Day, the new Twilight soundtrack will feature music from Christina Perri, Ellie Goulding, Passion Pit, and Feist.

Here’s Green Day’s new Twilight video.

Twilight: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 is scheduled for release on November 16.
