Lisa Vanderpump Hints Erika Girardi Should Have Humor: Clearly Takes Dorit Kemsley’s Side

Lisa Vanderpump didn’t know that Erika Girardi wasn’t wearing underwear when she decided to try and tear at her dress during her white party during Tuesday’s episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Erika was quick to tell Vanderpump that she couldn’t help out Kyle Richards with her underwear dilemma as she herself wasn’t wearing any underwear. And her admission caused quite the stir, as newbie Dorit Kemsley and her husband PK started talking about how they could see Erika’s private parts. In her own blog for The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Girardi revealed that she was covering her legs with a napkin or a purse throughout the entire night.

According to a new Bravo report, Lisa Vanderpump is now revealing that the entire scandal could have been avoided if Erika could just laugh at herself. Of course, the drama will unfold next week as Dorit gives Girardi a pair of underwear for her to wear. This won’t sit well with Girardi, who was angry and surprised to hear everything that the new housewife and her husband had to say about her body and her marriage. As for Lisa, she believes that everything could have been avoided if Girardi could just laugh at herself.

“Knickergate takes on a life of its own, the ripple effect and ramifications of a situation that was, I believe, inadvertently created. I know Erika was unintentionally exposing her coochy to PK. It was an innocent faux pas, but what transpires after, as we travel through this season, was largely a result of not having a sense of humor about it. Laughing at yourself would ultimately dissipate the embarrassment, rather than exacerbating a ridiculous circumstance,” Lisa Vanderpump explains in her Bravo blog for The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, sharing that Erika should just have laughed at herself and avoided this issue, which will become a huge story on this season.

Of course, it’s easy for Lisa Vanderpump to say that Girardi should just laugh at the event. Lisa is close friends with Dorit and she seemed to side with Kemsley during this discussion. But Erika was shocked to hear that Dorit and her husband were talking about it the day after. They had just talked about how they thought Americans were so conservative and they needed to lighten up. And yet, the day after knickergate happened, Dorit was in shock over Girardi’s decision to skip the underwear. And her husband made the comment that perhaps the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star’s body was available for the whole world.

One can imagine that Lisa Vanderpump wouldn’t be so understanding if someone was speaking about her behind her back the way Dorit was speaking about Erika and even hinting that perhaps her body was available to the world. They are both mothers and Girardi didn’t hold back on social media about her dislike for this new housewife. And Vanderpump may be enjoying this moment, as she isn’t alone in the drama about the British humor these days.

“After last season it was extraordinarily difficult to come back into this group, but it was made much easier by the addition of Dorit…Dorit is most definitely a friend who I can have a giggle with, talking about Harrison being a mop, laughing about the rubber, pepper spray comments, harmless self-deprecating remarks without any boundaries, just enjoyable moments that friends can indulge in,” Lisa Vanderpump points out in her blog for The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, hinting that she would only come back if she had a friend in her corner.

What do you think of Lisa Vanderpump’s comments about Erika needing a sense of humor? Do you think Vanderpump has a point?
