Why Is James Franco Dressed Up As Beyonce?

Whether or not you’ve ever wondered what James Franco would look like as Beyonce, here it is. Find out why the actor was dressed up like Beyonce today.

According to E! News, James Franco was spotted decked out in a full Lemonade ensemble strolling the streets of Los Angeles.

Franco walked down the sidewalk rocking a ruffled yellow dress. His hair was worn long and wavy and was secured with a headband.

The actor’s outfit was completely reminiscent of the visuals for Beyonce’s “Hold Up” video.

The only thing missing from Franco’s getup was a baseball bat. Would Beyonce approve?

Franco’s outfit caused fans to wonder what the actor was up to. He has been known to channel everything from his inner Riff-Raff to an outlandish rock star.

Although Franco has been tight-lipped about why he was dressed up, it was confirmed that it was for an upcoming movie.

Franco’s latest movie Why Him? is in theaters this Friday.

James Franco stars with Bryan Cranston, who plays Ned, a straight-laced Midwestern dad who reluctantly flies to Palo Alto, California with his wife, played by Megan Mullally, and teen son to meet daughter (Zoey Deutch) Stephanie’s new boyfriend, Laird (Franco). In short, Laird is a nightmare.

During an interview with USA Today, Franco describes Laird as the following.

“… very crude, he didn’t really have much parental guidance growing up and now, he’s very successful and so there’s no one really to tell him to be any one way.”

Why Him? was co-written by John Hamburg, who wrote Meet The Parents, Meet The Fockers, and Little Fockers.

Franco’s film definitely parodies these films a bit as well as other meet-the-parents classics like Vincente Minnelli’s Father Of The Bride and Stanley Kramer’s Guess Who’s Coming To Dinner.

Why Him? also features Keegan-Michael Key from Key & Peele playing the role of Gustav, Laird’s trusted estate manager, business adviser, martial arts instructor, helicopter pilot, and sommelier.

Franco admitted to ET that in his personal life, he is not great in the romance department either.

“I’ve been pretty bad in the romance department.”

“I think I’m a caring guy, but the grand gestures I’m not great at. I need to put more work into it.”

Franco also briefly discussed his brother Dave Franco’s upcoming wedding to actress Alison Brie.

“He’s supposed to get married in February.”

“I think he’s so casual about it.”

Dave mentioned that he was not even sure he would have a best man and that neither James nor their other brother, Tom, will be the best man.

“I don’t know if I’m gonna have a best man.”

“I feel like when we do eventually get married, we’re not gonna do a lot of the traditions and we’re just gonna make it easy and who knows?”

Bryan Cranston told ET that filming Why Him? was one of the “most fun” he’s ever had shooting a movie.

Now that he has wrapped up with Why Him? Franco has already emerged himself in another project. Perhaps a Pineapple Express 2 is in the works?
