Prince Harry And Kate Middleton Leave Royal Family For Holidays: Pippa And James Matthews’ Wedding And Harry’s Girlfriend Make Headlines

Now that members of the British royal family can marry commoners, things are getting more complicated as they start to make holiday plans! William and Kate made news when they declared that they will be spending Christmas with the Middletons. Possibly emboldened by this, it now has come to light that Prince Harry will spend New Year’s Eve with his new girlfriend, Meghan Markle. Looks like it will be a quiet holiday season in the royal palaces!

To make sure that everyone gathers together before they scatter to the winds, Prince Harry and the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (along with their children) attended the famous holiday lunch hosted by Queen Elizabeth II.

“Prince William (in his driving glasses!) took the wheel as the royal family made their way to Buckingham Palace for Queen Elizabeth’s annual holiday lunch before she heads to Sandringham for the main event,” reports People Magazine. “Prince Harry rode shotgun in the Range Rover while Princess Kate rode in the back with an excited Prince George and Princess Charlotte.”

Before this moment, the three royal adults have spent a lot of time together doing charity work as well as conducting royal duties as a trio.

By doing this, Kate Middleton received permission to spend this Christmas with her parents and her siblings, Pippa and James. With Pippa and fiance James Matthews’ wedding coming up in May of 2017, Kate may want to some spend quality time together before they all get busy with their new families.

“The royal couple and their two children George, three, and Charlotte, 18 months, will not join the Queen and the rest of the Royal Family for the annual festivities in Norfolk,” reports the Mirror. “They will instead be spending the day at Kate’s parents’ Georgian mansion in Bucklebury, Berkshire. It means that those keenly anticipating seeing Prince George make his first walk to church on Christmas morning will have to wait for at least another year as the Cambridges spend this year firmly out of sight.”

Prince Harry will most likely spend Christmas with her grandmother in Sandringham, but once 2016 starts to draw to an end, he will make his way to his girlfriend, Meghan Markle.

“Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are taking the next step in their blossoming relationship by seeing in the new year together,” reports the Mirror. “The couple, who started dating earlier this year, look to be getting serious about each other as they’ll be spending New Year’s Eve together – although it’s not yet known whether Harry, 32, will fly over to Toronto or if Meghan, 35, will make another trip to the UK for it.”

Seeing how they are the most-inquired-about couple on earth right now, they are choosing to keep their whereabouts private.

In fact, the British royal family has been very supportive of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s relationship, releasing statements that request media outlets to be considerate of their personal space.

“Meghan Markle, has been subject to a wave of abuse and harassment,” the palace said in the statement, according to People Magazine. “Some of this has been very public — the smear on the front page of a national newspaper; the racial undertones of comment pieces; and the outright sexism and racism of social media trolls and web article comments.”

Meghan Markle is quite a progressive choice for a girlfriend. Not only is she American, but she is also half African-American, which means that if they get married, the royal family will most likely see a mixed race child in the family.
