Marc Anthony And Shannon De Lima Divorce: J Lo Not To Blame, Anthony’s Busy Schedule And Bachelor Ways Are

Rumors swirled recently that Jennifer Lopez wants her ex-husband back so he can be a stay at home dad for there twins. New developments indicate that there may actually be a chance for Lopez and Anthony fully rekindling things seeing as the singer and his current wife have just confirmed they are divorcing after two years of marriage. This comes just after Marc and Jennifer shared an onstage kiss which fueled rumors that they are ready to give their relationship another try for the sake of their children.

The Mirror shares the joint statement recently released by Anthony and Shannon De Lima regarding their divorce.

“After much consideration, we have mutually and amicably decided to end our two year marriage. We ask for privacy during this difficult process, and no further comments will be made from either one of us about this personal matter.”

There were rumors initially sparked about the couple’s marriage issues earlier in the month and claims have been made that the pair have been separated since earlier this year. The news likely came as a shock to fans of Anthony and his estranged wife, De Lima, seeing as the beauty recently posted a loving message to social media about Marc Anthony in celebration of his 48th birthday, stating “Thank you for sharing your life with me… and for being the best husband and friend someone could wish for.”

The split announcement, as noted, comes only weeks after Jennifer Lopez and Marc shared a lingering onstage kiss at the Latin Grammy Awards. J Lo made a surprise appearance to present Anthony with an award for Person of the Year. They then performed together.

Lopez and Anthony split in 2012 after seven years of marriage. The two share two children, twins Max and Emme. Although there is no verification that Jen and Marc are moving towards rekindling things since the triple threat entertainer also split from her on-and-off boyfriend Casper Smart, it seems that the two are definitely amicable and respectful as they do their best to co-parent their children.

Claims are being made that the split between 48-year-old Anthony and 28-year-old De Lima, was a result of the singer’s demanding schedule as a world-famous performer. People notes the words of a Spanish insider close to the former couple.

“Marc is so busy with his career, touring and recording that he distances himself from his relationships without even knowing it. Even with his wife in tow, she can feel like he is on another planet. Marc likes to have a woman at home but he also likes to live like a bachelor This doesn’t work for very long.”

As Inquisitr has recently reported, there were indications that Lopez had been the culprit in bringing on the split between Marc Anthony and Shannon De Lima, noting that Lopez had a plan to reel Anthony back to her to be a present father in the lives of their children. The claims were spurred on by Radar Online.

“The wildly successful singer, who is keeping herself busy with her All I Have Las Vegas residency show, is reportedly hoping to reconcile with Marc, who recently announced his divorce from Shannon De Lima, who he has only been married to since 2014…the couple grew apart, with many outlets questioning whether Anthony’s closeness to Jennifer Lopez had something to do with it.”

Although it is likely the case that Lopez would love to have Marc Anthony around to be more present in the lives of his children, it is not very likely that Jennifer caused a wedge between Shannon and Marc. Marc has been known for his bachelor ways and his busy schedule which has kept him away from his duties as a husband and father. It was made known that those were the same reasons that brought the marriage between Lopez and Anthony to an end.
