Lamar Odom To Star In Own Reality Show, Put ‘Dark Place’ Kardashian Days Behind

With his divorce from Khloe Kardashian finally over, Lamar Odom is rumored to be on the verge of landing his own reality show centered on his life and recovery.

Several media outlets are reporting that the former NBA star already has a deal in place for the yet to be filmed series, which is slated to begin airing sometime in 2017.

Odom recently checked himself into a rehab facility in hopes of getting his long reported history of drug addiction under control.

While sources insist Kobe Bryant’s now 37-year-old, former running mate was not abusing drugs when he checked into the facility, they admit he is concerned about being able to keep things that way.

“He wants to stay clear and focused,” said a source. “With the divorce from Khloé being finalized and the holidays coming up, he doesn’t want to slip up. He’s trying to take care of himself. He really wants to be better.”

Odom and Kardashian first split four years into their marriage, when rumors of his infidelity and rampant drug use became too much for her to bear. Kardashian formally filed for divorce in 2013, but a couple years later called things off after his near-fatal overdose at a Las Vegas brothel.

Odom recently granted his first public interview offering intimate details about his ordeal during a sit-down with The Doctors‘ Travis Stork.

“I wasn’t in a good place mentally before the incident happened,” Odom said in the interview. “Me and my wife at the time were going through some things. I was in a dark place.”

After being found unconscious and largely unresponsive, Odom spent three days in a coma and several more months in recovery, all the time while being oblivious of what had happened to him

“I didn’t know until Khloé told me that I was in a coma,” he said. “I couldn’t even speak at the time. I couldn’t talk. Nothing would come out, and I would open my mouth, so I was scared.”

After spending time with Odom, Stork went on record with his opinion that he feels Odom is now as committed to beating his demons as he’s ever been before.

“I will say he was not only committed but no one was forcing him to go [to rehab],” he said. “He, of his own accord, and with a clear mind I might add, decided that this is what he needed to do to recover his life. He was very open and honest about these demons he’s been dealing with.”

The 32-yer-old Kardashian is now romantically linked to Cleveland Cavaliers star forward Tristan Thompson and the two are rumored to be growing closer.

Kardashian recently accompanied Thompson on the road for an extended team road trip, a move superstar teammate LeBron James was reported to not be in full support of.

The two are reported to have bumped heads before a recent game about Kardashian being around the team so much.

“Tristan isn’t taking any crap from his teammates anymore,” a source said of all the locker room flak he has faced since he and Kardashian went public. “As far as he’s concerned, Khloe’s coming to every damn game she chooses.”

Before taking up with Thompson, Kardashian also dated NBA star James Harden and has also been linked to NFL star Odell Beckham Jr. Kardashian’s well-publicized history of hard luck in such high-profile relationships has given rise to theories about the so-called “Kardashian Kurse.

While dating Kardashian, Harden’s Rockets tumbled from a No. 2 seed in the Western Conference all the way down to a No. 8 seed. Beckham also got off to an uncharacteristically slow start this season while hanging out with Khloe and Kardashian sister Kim was married to NBA veteran Kris Humphries for all of 72 days.
