I Want a Dog for Christmas, Charlie Brown is one of the first Peanuts movies that was made specifically for television. The movie premiered on ABC on Dec. 9, 2003. The movie’s plot discusses the relationship that Charlie Brown has with his beloved dog Snoopy. Charlie Brown’s friend Rerun wants a dog for Christmas as well. Rerun Van Pelt is the younger brother of Linus and Lucy, who is often at odds with Charlie Brown. Lucy as well as Rerun’s mother determine that Rerun isn’t responsible or old enough to handle and properly care for a dog’s needs. As Rerun needs a dog he begins to latch on to Snoopy. Snoopy becomes annoyed with Rerun’s well-meaning attention and enlists his brother, a dog named Spike, to visit. The movie focuses on the relationship a child has with his pet, and also highlights the needs dogs have to ensure they are properly cared for. Some are surprised to know that Snoopy isn’t an only dog, per say, but has brothers and sisters. Snoopy’s siblings include the following: Spike, Marbles, Olaf, and Andy.

Those who want to relive the magic of the holidays will find plenty of opportunities to enjoy the classics from the Peanuts. ABC kicked things off in October with It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown and followed up with A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving. One nice aspect of Charlie Brown movies is that though they are fictional and geared towards young children, they often include important lessons. Also, Charlie Brown is a bullied child and one that other children who find themselves in similar situations may identify with.

ABC aired A Charlie Brown Christmas on Dec. 1, and it will air a second time on Dec. 22 at 8 p.m. ET. Though the show has aired, it is still in high demand by many who enjoy this family classic. A Charlie Brown Christmas is one of the few animated holiday movies that includes the Bible story of the birth of Jesus, and it is a popular choice for Christian parents who want children’s movies that are entertaining yet inspirational.

ABC is enabling viewers to watch A Charlie Brown Christmas online without the use of a sign in. This is very helpful as there are many people who do not have a cable or satellite subscription and watch television through the use of a digital antenna. Some of these people have access to the internet, but can’t log in to view programs that require a television subscription. The Charlie Brown holiday movies aren’t on Hulu, so many people are limited to watch them unless they go through ABC.
