Reese Witherspoon Has A ‘New Appreciation’ For Taylor Swift

Is it possible Taylor Swift doesn’t get enough credit? Reese Witherspoon sure seems to think so.

According to Us Weekly, Reese Witherspoon revealed during an interview on the Today Show on Friday, December 16, that it isn’t as easy to be Taylor Swift as Swift makes it seem. According to Reese, she has a new appreciation for Taylor Swift after she attempted to sing one of her songs as part of her role in the new animated flick called Sing.

“Country music is much easier for me,” Reese revealed during the interview as she opened up about how difficult it is to sing Taylor Swifts’ songs and do them the justice she believed they deserved.

For the new animated movie Sing, Witherspoon had to sing Taylor Swift’s song titled “Shake It Off.” Reese admits the song was “really hard” to master. During the interview, she also talked about how she ran into Taylor Swift while she was working on making the animated flick. She said she told Taylor, “I have a new appreciation for how hard you work.” According to Reese, Taylor responded by agreeing that she did work really hard.

In the animated flick, Reese Witherspoon has taken on the role of one of the main characters. She voices a mama pig named Rosita who is known for her powerful singing pipes. The animated flick Sing focuses on a number of different animals as they compete against each other as part of the town’s singing competition.

This animated flick would not be the first time Reese has demonstrated her powerful voice to the world. This 40-year-old actress is known for her role as June Carter Cash opposite Joaquin Phoenix in 2005’s song-heavy Johnny Cash biopic.

On December 2, Friday, Reese and her friend Matthew McConaughey – who also happens to star in the animated film – took their children to see the L.A. premiere of the movie. McConaughey plays the role of a business-minded koala who also happens to own a theater.

Reese was joined by her 17-year-old daughter Ava – who most people claim looks exactly like her – and her sons Deacon (13 years old) and Tennessee (4 years old). Matthew McConaughey was joined by his sons Levi (8 years old), Livingston (3 years old), and his daughter Vida (6 years old). Jim Toth, Reese Witherspoon’s husband, also attended the premiere of the animated movie.
