Amber Portwood Quits ‘Teen Mom OG,’ Simon Saran Weighs In With Comedy

Amber Portwood recently announced she was quitting Teen Mom OG because of the disrespect she felt was handed to her when the reunion fight with Farrah Abraham aired. She had posted to her fans that she wanted to see how things were edited following the blowout. MTV reportedly left out Michael Abraham putting his hands on Matt Baier. Fans have commented about the editing job, but most felt it showed what needed to be seen. Since the announcement of Portwood’s departure, several members of the Teen Mom franchise have been weighing in.

Simon Saran has been a thorn in Amber Portwood’s side all season long. He is the reason the Teen Mom OG feud exploded. Saran has been dating Farrah Abraham on and off for a few seasons now, popping up again just when everyone thought she was done with him for good. According to All About the Tea, Simon Saran is calling Amber Portwood’s bluff. He went on a Twitter rant and commented about how he thinks things are going to go down. Snide remarks were made with a little shade thrown at Morgan J. Freeman about the pay the Teen Mom franchise members receive. Simon insists that Portwood will be back for the money, but she definitely has other income sources at the moment.

It looks like things for Amber Portwood may end up being permanent. She has talked about leaving the show and the argument and physical confrontation at the reunion were over the top. Farrah Abraham and Simon Saran live for the drama and they likely knew what they were starting when saying that Matt Baier looked like a pedophile. It is one thing to joke around, but an accusation like that is not only not funny, but it could cause serious damage to someone’s reputation. This was a huge milestone in the Teen Mom franchise and the way MTV handled it was not to Portwood’s liking.

Both Amber Portwood and Matt Baier have invested in real estate, learning to flip houses over the last two years. While the check from MTV for shooting Teen Mom OG would be nice, the money isn’t something they depend on anymore. Fans are wondering how that will work with Portwood’s daughter, Leah. Will she be allowed to film with Gary Shirley or will she be taken off the show as well? There is still a lot to iron out with all of the details. Fans have been wondering whether or not a contract was in place or if they had finished filming and their obligations were met. Either way, Amber is certain she is done with the show.

Questions have been raised about the Teen Mom cruise that is set to happen in 2017. If Amber Portwood really quit Teen Mom OG does that also affect everything she does with the brand as well? There is a lot to consider, more than Portwood and Matt Baier even know. Between flipping houses and the launch of Baier’s tell-all book, they will be quite busy over the next few months. There is a lot these two have planned and if it works out like they anticipate, Teen Mom OG won’t be necessary.

Simon Saran will likely continue to roast them as time goes on because of the reaction he gets from Amber Portwood and Matt Baier. He is still insisting that the couple will be back on MTV for filming after enough hype comes from the quitting stunt. Portwood insists it isn’t a publicity move, but Saran is calling her bluff. It will be interesting to see how this drama plays out and whether or not Amber Portwood and Matt Baier return to Teen Mom OG for any reason.
