Mariah Carey has been causing a flurry of rumors as of late due to a reported new romance that is brewing between the diva and her choreographer/backup dancer, Bryan Tanaka. When the diva appeared on Today recently and was asked about the romance, there were no details offered, but there was also not a denial of romance with her possible new man.
Additionally, Carey’s manager is giving two thumbs up to the romance that the two are reportedly carrying on. Following her surprising split from billionaire James Packer, who Carey was set to marry in the near future, Carey seemed to have taken the news hard, followed by more news that her ex-husband Nick Cannon was expecting a baby with a former girlfriend. Leave it to a new romance with a handsome backup dancer to help Carey get over the heartbreak in true diva form. The Daily Mail shares words from Carey’s manager, Stella Bulochnikov, who reportedly is all for the superstar and dancer moving forward with a relationship.
“Well, when you’re Mariah Carey you’re one of the most coveted women in the world so I can’t blame Tanaka for having a crush on her,” she said of the 46-year-old hit-maker at the Mariah’s World premiere party at Catch NYC. “We’ll have to wait and see if he puts the moves on her.”
As the publication notes, Stella’s words are a bit odd, considering Mariah and Bryan were already caught kissing and cuddling on the beach in Hawaii recently, and it appears he’s already put the moves on the songstress.

The manager went on to share that she sees Tanaka as a good fit for Carey over James Packer, noting that something could potentially happen between the two that is more serious. “Tanaka is definitely charming,” Stella explained. “I think he might dance his way into her heart. I don’t know,” she teased to the website.
Mariah’s new docu-series, Mariah’s World, does give a glimpse into the work relationship Carey and Tanaka had leading up to the Hawaiian beach incident, and it’s clear that the two have a great relationship. In a recent episode of the eight-part series, Tanaka and the other backup dancers prepare to throw a party for the diva, and the supposed new love interest of Carey shares about the occasion. E! notes Tanaka’s words in the episode.
“We got to set something up for Mariah’s birthday, her 14th anniversary,” he tells the guys. “We got do something crazy on stage. You were saying maybe roll out a cake or something. We got to get Roc and Roe [Mariah’s twins] to maybe come out on stage. We got to do something special for her.”
Creative director Anthony Burrell also chimes in and agrees that Mariah deserves the best for her part in giving them such a great opportunity and lifestyle.

“Something that’s extravagant, something that’s huge, that’s going to make her just feel appreciated,” he says. “She’s the reason for all of us being here, so we got to above and beyond even if it’s digging in our pockets a little bit. The better we make her feel, the better she’ll appreciate us and have us around.”
Since Tanaka and Carey were spotted smooching, rumors have flown, and there have even been claims made that Tanaka was one of the reasons that Packer dumped Carey. Such rumors stated that Packer was aware of a connection and was quite jealous of the bond between Carey and her backup dancer, especially as the two were always around one another. Such claims have not been verified, however.
