Drake Wanted To Surprise Taylor Swift On Her 27th Birthday?

Taylor Swift and Drake faced dating rumors months ago, and recently, the rapper was said to be planning to celebrate Swift’s 27th birthday with a big surprise for the singer.

On Tuesday, December 13, Taylor Swift celebrated her big day after receiving tons of birthday wishes online from friends, including model Gigi Hadid. Meanwhile, a source claimed the rapper was planning to surprise the singer in a major way.

“Drake wants to show [Taylor Swift] love in the biggest way by buying billboards all over Los Angeles wishing her a very happy birthday,” a source told Hollywood Life on December 12.

Taylor Swift was first linked to Drake romantically in October after she was spotted arriving at his birthday party in West Hollywood at celebrity hotspot Delilah. At the time, a source told Page Six that the rumored pair spent tons of time together at the event and were seen laughing and flirting with one another.

Weeks later, Drake fueled romance rumors when he shared a photo of himself and Taylor Swift on Instagram.

“[Drake] would love nothing more than to see [Taylor Swift]’s beautiful face with a special birthday message on a billboard plastered all over CA,” the Hollywood Life source continued, but “he used this tactic with Rihanna to congratulate her on the Michael Jackson Vanguard Video Award,” which she received during the 2016 MTV Video Music Awards.

“[Taylor Swift] is super special to him and he doesn’t want to upset her or make her feel like she’s second fiddle by doing something that he already did for another female… He even contemplated dressing up as Santa, with the intent that she would sit on his lap while he gives her a present. But, he thought that would be too corny,” the source claimed.

Taylor Swift and Drake continue to be linked to one another, but when it comes to their recent encounters, they don’t appear to have spent any time together since Drake’s birthday. Instead, Drake continues to focus on his music while Swift has reportedly been working on her upcoming (but yet to be confirmed) album.

The Hollywood Life source went on to reveal that while Drake is usually creative when it comes to surprises, he was reportedly “at a loss” about what to do for Taylor Swift in honor of her 27th birthday.

“He honestly doesn’t know what a humble princess like her would want,” the source explained on Monday. “He’s got a day left to figure it out and he’s scrambling like crazy to impress Taylor with a birthday present with a wow factor.”

Taylor Swift and Drake may not be dating, but according to a Page Six report weeks ago, they are working together on an upcoming project. After the two spent time together at Drake’s party in October, a source revealed that the reason behind their recent hangout was reportedly new music.

Taylor Swift was reportedly a no-show during Drake’s Virginia Black Halloween party in October, and during the event, he was said to have been flirty with another woman. Meanwhile, Taylor Swift was said to have enlisted the rapper to help her gain a more hip-hop feel on her allegedly upcoming new album.

“[Taylor Swift] is always looking at ways to grow as an artist and really wants to try something different and unexpected for the next album,” a source told the Sun via a report by Hollywood Life in November. “It’s a real mix of edgier hip-hop and R&B sounds.”

“[Drake is] writing with [Taylor Swift], he’s producing a few tracks and even lent his vocals to one song,” the source added.
