Selena Gomez’s New Album Delayed Due To $10 Million Coach Deal?

Has Selena Gomez’s reported $10 million deal with Coach caused her upcoming new album to be delayed?

Earlier this week, it was reported that Gomez had signed a deal with the fashion house to star in a new series of ad campaigns — and create a new line of clothing. Now, fans are wondering if her alleged commitment with Coach will stand in the way of her potential new songs.

On December 13, the Gamer’s Drop said that rumors have been swirling in regard to when Selena Gomez would release her next album, but when it comes to a 2016 release, the outlet noted the chances as “slim.”

While Selena Gomez hasn’t officially announced plans for a new album, the outlet claimed her upcoming songs would reportedly be about Gomez’s journey to recovery as well as depression and the rediscovery of herself.

Selena Gomez revealed in August that she was suffering from symptoms of Lupus, including anxiety, depression, and panic attacks. In a statement to People Magazine at the time, Selena Gomez announced she would be taking some time off after canceling her Revival World Tour.

“As many of you know, around a year ago I revealed that I have lupus, an illness that can affect people in different ways,” the 24-year-old said in a statement. “I’ve discovered that anxiety, panic attacks and depression can be side effects of lupus, which can present their own challenges.”

“I want to be proactive and focus on maintaining my health and happiness and have decided that the best way forward is to take some time off. Thank you to all my fans for your support. You know how special you are to me, but I need to face this head on to ensure I am doing everything possible to be my best. I know I am not alone by sharing this, I hope others will be encouraged to address their own issues,” she continued.

A short time after Selena Gomez confirmed the end of her tour, Us Weekly spoke of her future music, claiming the former Wizards of Waverly Place actress had not yet returned to the studio.

“[Selena Gomez] was supposed to be recording, but she hasn’t told anyone when she’ll be back in studio,” a music industry source told the magazine.

At the time, Us Weekly reported that Selena Gomez had allegedly checked into a Tennessee rehab, where she was focusing on her mental health. Although Gomez never actually confirmed where, or if, she sought treatment for her struggles with anxiety, depression and panic attacks, she was photographed near Nashville, Tennessee at the time of the report and was also seen at a Texas Roadhouse restaurant nearby.

After she reportedly began treatment, Selena Gomez was believed to have spent time with her mother, Mandy Teefy, her step-father, Brian Teefy, and her grandparents.

Since reportedly leaving rehab weeks ago, Selena Gomez has stayed fairly silent on social media, but she has been seen on numerous occasions in Los Angeles and last month, she made what was believed to have been her first post-rehab appearance at the 2016 American Music Awards.

“I had to stop because I had everything and I was absolutely broken inside. I kept it all together enough to where I would never let you down but I kept it too much together to where I let myself down,” Selena Gomez explained to the audience, via Mashable. “If you are broken you do not have to stay broken. If that’s anything, whether you respect me or not, that’s one thing you should know about me is I care about people. Thank you so much for this. This is for you. Thank you.”
