Spoiler alert: This article discusses Episode 13 of History’s Vikings. In particular, the Episode 13 trailer reveals a major plot disclosure for this episode. Please proceed with caution if you wish to avoid spoilers.

Episode 12 of Vikings ended with Ragnar (Travis Fimmel) and Ivar (Alex Hogh) trapped underwater as a storm ravaged their fleet. It was quickly revealed that Ragnar and Ivar did survive, leaving many fans disappointed the network had spoiled the cliffhanger.

The trailer for Episode 13 of Vikings is below.

The synopsis for Episode 13 (entitled “Two Journeys”) of Season 4, Part 2 of Vikings is below.

“Ragnar’s fleet is shipwrecked and washes up on the Wessex coast, but without enough survivors to form a credible force, Ragnar and Ivar have a difficult decision to make. Rollo meets his Viking comrades again and can’t resist the urge to join Bjorn’s voyage, risking his marriage and his new Frankish identity. Ragnar too is taking a risk as he carries Ivar towards the Royal Villa in Wessex – throwing himself and his son upon the mercy of King Ecbert.”

History's 'Vikings,' Season 4 Part 2, Episode 13, Ragnar Lothbrok and Ivar the Boneless

As the trailer and synopsis reveal, Ragnar and Ivar survive their journey, meaning Ivar’s mother, Aslaug (Alyssa Sutherland) had nothing to worry about from her vision involving Ivar perishing at sea during this trip. However, it is mentioned in the synopsis that the pair will have “a difficult decision to make.” There is little by way of clues in the trailer to suggest what this decision will involve, although Ragnar does ask Ivar to “act like a cripple” in the trailer in order to appear less threatening, so perhaps this is what the synopsis refers to. It seems unlikely this is a difficult decision by any stretch, so perhaps there is something else they will be confronted with in Episode 13 of Vikings.

History's 'Vikings,' Season 4 Part 2, Episode 13, Bjorn Ironside and Duke Rollo

For those of you who have been looking forward to Rollo’s (Clive Standen) appearance in Season 4, Part 2 of Vikings, Episode 13 is the one for you. Bjorn Ironside (Alexander Ludwig) has reached Paris and is asking Rollo for assistance to travel safely past the shores of Frankia. However, it seems Rollo is getting bored with his Frankish life and insists he joins Bjorn’s group as they travel to the Mediterranean. Considering Rollo is seen, briefly, either on board a ship, or in front of the fleet with Bjorn, it is possible Bjorn forgives his uncle for his past indiscretions and allows the former Viking to travel with them.

Finally, the trailer for Episode 13 of Vikings shows Lagertha (Katheryn Winnick) finally attacking Kattegat. She states the following to Astrid (Josefin Asplund).

“These are my people. I am taking Kattegat back. Aslaug isn’t fit to be queen.

History's 'Vikings,' Season 4 Part 2, Episode 13, Lagertha attacks Kattegat

While Lagertha does have a right to lay her claim on Kattegat, Astrid asks her a serious question, “What about Ragnar’s sons?” And it is a valid question to ask. Will Lagertha also take out Ragnar’s sons in order to rule over Kattegat? If she doesn’t, it leaves the door open for Aslaug’s sons to counterattack. But will Lagertha really be brutal enough to kill Ragnar’s sons in order to reclaim Kattegat? Only by tuning into Episode 13 of Vikings will reveal the answers.
