‘Call Of Duty: Black Ops 3’ Update Offers PS4 Pro 4K Gaming Support, Game Receives Gold Prize From PlayStation Awards 2016

The latest update for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 provides PS4 Pro support, allowing gamers to enjoy “enhanced dynamic 4K gaming.” Via a changelog, Activision also revealed other changes to find upon getting the most recent game update.

As part of the general improvements made for the Multiplayer mode, the Black Market items got updated visual presentation. Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 players should also find Showcase’s stats widget showing the correct name for all the Black Market weapons.

The Zombies mode of Treyarch’s first-person shooter video game also got updated. Various issues and exploits found in Shadows of Evil, Revelations and Zetsubou no Shima were fixed in update 1.19 for Call of Duty: Black Ops 3.

The 1.4GB-hefty game update for COD: Black Ops 3 arrived several weeks after David Vonderhaar of Treyarch said via a Twitter post that they “aren’t totally done” with the game, although update roll outs will “probably slow down.” The previous update for Black Ops 3 was made available back in October.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 just received a Gold Prize from Sony’s PlayStation Awards 2016 for having more than half a million shipments and downloads in Japan and Asia as of September 30, according to Dual Shockers. Other Gold Prize awardees are Dark Souls 3, The Last of Us Remastered, Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End, Sword Art Online: Lost Song, Persona 5 and more.

Meanwhile, fans of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered can expect a free update today, December 13. According to a report from PlayStation Lifestyle, the patch will add Bloc, Pipeline, Countdown, Wet Work, Showdown, and Strike — the six remaining multiplayer maps. Furthermore, two game modes, Hardpoint and Gun Game will also be included in the update.

Aside from the free update, the remastered Winter Crash map, as shown in the latter part of the trailer posted below, will also be available for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered today.

“We’ll be running a 24/7 Winter Crash playlist beginning on December 20 that will last through the holidays, and we’ll have more details soon,” Activision’s blog post also noted, which also revealed other Call of Duty gifts that await their players.

For instance, as a way to show gratitude to their loyal fans, particularly to those who have a copy of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare and who also clocked in play hours for Black Ops 3, Activision, since December 8, has been giving out an epic prototype Hailstorm – Thunder pistol to eligible players. Describing the weapon, the publisher’s blog post noted the following.

“The Hailstorm – Thunder is extremely shiny (and deadly), and features a three-round burst along with two perks: Whirlwind, which is a fast cycling auto burst that increases recoil, and Focus to reduce idle sway while aiming down sights. So, jump in the game today and equip it in your loadout to show some pride.”

December is definitely a huge month for avid gamers as they can also look forward to a free trial period where they can try out all the three game modes offered by Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, the 2016 installment of the first-person shooter developed by Infinity Ward. The five-day Free Trial Event is scheduled to start on December 15.

Later this month, the Headquarters for the Division of Mechanical Evolution will get a festive transformation and alongside this makeover is a Genesis Holiday map. A 24/7 Genesis Holiday playlist will also be released “to spread cheer, goodwill, and high KDRs.”

Call of Duty’s “12 Days of Winter” is also inbound, happening from December 21 to January 1 where Infinite Warfare players can expect to receive a gift each day when they simply log into the game. “Twelve Days, twelve awesome gifts for free, just for logging into the game,” the blog shared, also noting the following.

“These freebies range from big Salvage and Key bonuses, to winter-themed personalization items, and even winter-themed Common, Rare, and Legendary prototypes!”
