Lala Kent Quits ‘Vanderpump Rules’ Amid Sex Tape, Married Boyfriend Rumors
Vanderpump Rules star Lala Kent confirmed that she’s leaving the show in the middle of Season 5. The reality star first made the announcement on social media over the past summer.
Lala Kent has been hit with her share of rumors on Season 5 of Vanderpump Rules. Her castmates are convinced that she’s dating a married man who bought her a Range Rover, according to Perez Hilton. She also has been accused of sexting him and making a sex tape with him while he was still married to his wife. Kent has confirmed on Monday, Dec. 12 that she’s leaving the Bravo series.
“I’m excited for people to watch me exit because it’s just going to show a new side of my life and I think it will get to show people who I really am,” the outspoken star told TooFab.com. “I watch the show sometimes and I’m like that’s not me. I want people to see who I actually hang out with, my day-to-day life. And I never got to show that. I’m excited for people to watch me leave Vanderpump Rules to be quite honest.”
Lala Kent says that the decision to leave the show was 100 percent hers. No one influenced her to leave the reality show behind.
“I made it halfway through the season and just decide that I want no part of the people anymore,” she admitted. “I feel like they don’t deserve to be in my world in any way shape or form. So I dismissed myself.”
As Perez Hilton previously reported, viewers were confused when Lala was cut from the show’s intro and was later replaced by Stassi Schroeder, who has been upgraded to a full-time cast mate though she no longer works at Lisa Vanderpump’s SUR restaurant. A spokesperson for Bravo has given no comment on Lala leaving.
This news comes as no surprise to fans who seen it coming for months. Lala Kent doesn’t get along with many of the cast on the show except for resident bad boy James Kennedy. Lala previously mentioned on Twitter that she was living Vanderpump Rules in the middle of the season. It all happened when a fan slammed Lala and supported Stassi.
“@lala_kent crazy how @stassi is on vacation with everyone & ur not. Just goes to show ur still hated as the show goes on,” the user wrote.
Lala fought back at the fan: “I have decided to part ways from the show. Thanks b****.”
Since Lala is still on the show, it’s clear that she wasn’t fired, as it was assumed on Reality Tea. She also tweeted, “#ibelongonVH1,” which spawned the rumors that she might have her own spin-off series on the competing channel.
Lala followed up the cryptic hashtag with an Instagram post addressed to her fans, reports the Hollywood Gossip.
“I love you all and thank you all. I’m overwhelmed by the amount of love I gained from such sweet people in such a short period of time. The fan base I have has kept me on cloud 9. Stay tuned for Lala’s next move. #upup&away.”
According to the Bravo blog, Lala Kent has since addressed the rumors that she’s dating a married man. Lala’s relationship seems to be the running storyline on this season since little is known about her boyfriend. During her appearance on Jenny McCarthy’s on her Sirius XM show earlier this month, she addressed the rumors that have plagued her for months.
“They are still on that train so hard and I’m just sitting here and I’m like, ‘Where is this coming from?’ I never even heard of this rumor.”
Lala went to say that the rumors went on “full force,” but confirms that she hasn’t “heard about this ever.” Still, she thinks the origins of the rumors are still fuzzy.
“You know, usually when there’s a rumor being started you hear a little bit about it. It was just full force placed on me.”
