‘Vanderpump Rules’ Scheana Marie Fires Back At Mike Shay Divorce Rumors

Scheana Marie and Mike Shay have faced numerous rumors regarding what led to their split since they officially announced they were parting ways earlier this month, and over the weekend, the Vanderpump Rules star shut down one of the recent reports.

On December 10, a Vanderpump Rules fan account shared a tweet with their followers in which they claimed to have a direct quote from Scheana Marie.

The quote, which was allegedly made by Scheana Marie in regard to her husband’s rumored substance abuse and their divorce, read, “[He] wallowed in his s**t and went into a bad place as I became more famous.”

However, according to Scheana Marie, she never said Shay had “wallowed” over her mounting fame and encouraged those following the account to block them completely.

“I’ve never used the word ‘wallowed’ in my life. Get your facts straight. Y’all suck,” Scheana Marie tweeted back to the account after catching wind of their false tweet.

Kristen Doute also weighed in on the situation, claiming the person behind the account was a “d**k” and a “liar.”

“Are you campaigning to be on #PumpRules? [Scheana Marie] didn’t say that and you can’t sit with us,” Doute wrote.

Scheana Marie and Mike Shay reportedly began facing marital troubles at the end of October when TMZ reported that Shay had allegedly emptied out their joint checking account after going missing for days. According to the report, Scheana Marie was likely headed for a divorce after her husband possibly fell off the wagon after months of sobriety.

Shortly after the report was shared, Mike Shay took to Instagram where he denied that he was missing and claimed he was still sober.

Scheana Marie and Mike Shay went public with Shay’s substance abuse during Vanderpump Rules Season 4. During the season, Scheana Marie opened up about her struggles with Shay and revealed he was drinking a lot and sometimes mixing alcohol with multiple pills.

Scheana Marie and Mike Shay ultimately worked through their issues during the fourth season of the show but after filming Season 5, things between them took a turn for the worse and ultimately, the reality star filed for divorce.

Following Scheana Marie’s divorce filing, she and her husband confirmed they were parting ways after just two years of marriage.

“While we have made the difficult decision to move forward separately, our story will continue on through the love and mutual respect that we have cultivated throughout our 15-year friendship,” Scheana Marie and Mike Shay said in a joint statement to Us Weekly earlier this month. “Much of the recent speculation and reporting on our relationship has been misguided, and we have come to an amicable decision on all matters. We might have failed at our marriage, but we are committed to succeeding as friends and will continue to support each other’s personal happiness and professional success.”

Since filing for divorce, Scheana Marie has stayed fairly silent in regard to the end of her marriage. However, she did tell fans she did not want to have anything negative said about her marriage or about Mike Shay online.

Scheana Marie’s relationship with Mike Shay has been seen on Vanderpump Rules for the past several seasons and during Season 3, the couple was seen tying the knot on the show during a ceremony attended by their close friends and co-stars, including Lisa Vanderpump.

“Well, you’re going to see some of [what went wrong] on the end of the season,” Vanderpump told Entertainment Tonight‘s Brice Sander. “I’m very protective of Scheana, and with what went down last year — you know, what she talked about [with Mike’s] addiction.”
