‘WWE Roadblock’: Kevin Owens, Seth Rollins, And Three Predictions

WWE Roadblock is the final pay-per-view for not only 2016, but it’s also the final one until the WWE Royal Rumble in January. This is a good way to finalize some of the feuds before one of the crown jewels of the WWE, but it is also a great way to add fuel to the fire for other happenings within the WWE.

The main event of WWE Roadblock is for the WWE Universal Championship, featuring the champion Kevin Owens and the challenger Roman Reigns. With there being just one Monday Night Raw left before this event, a lot can still occur between now and this upcoming Sunday, but the match will possibly set up how the next few months could go for each WWE superstar.

Another match that could “steal the show” is Seth Rollins against Chris Jericho, as these are two of the top wrestlers in the WWE. Both have been a part of some of the better matches of previous years, and this meeting between the two WWE Superstars shouldn’t disappoint, either.

The Ironman Match between WWE Raw Women’s Champion Sasha Banks and Charlotte is a first for the women’s division and draws much interest. Will it live up to the hype of what an Ironman Match is supposed to be?

Those are the lone three matches set thus far for the event, as there is still the aforementioned final WWE Monday Night Raw to still occur before WWE Roadblock, but until the final card is set, here are three predictions for the three matches currently set for the final WWE Pay-Per-View of 2016.

1. Kevin Owens keeps the WWE Universal Championship: This match has the potential to set up new storylines for both superstars. On one hand, Owens should keep the championship at WWE Roadblock and possibly set up a match down the line with his “best friend” Chris Jericho, because there is a great feeling that will happen.

As for Roman Reigns, he doesn’t need to win this match because he needs to be featured heavily in the WWE Royal Rumble match more, as he has been the past two years. Last year, he was the WWE Champion at the Royal Rumble, but many fans don’t see him winning the Universal championship at Roadblock.

2. Charlotte Flair wins again at a PPV: The WWE seems to be all about having winning streaks lately. A few years ago, they had the WWE Championship winning streak for CM Punk, and now they have The New Day about to break the WWE Tag Team Championship streak of Demolition. Now there is Charlotte’s PPV winning streak.

Charlotte, who is No. 2 in the ESPN Power Rankings before WWE Roadblock, has won at every WWE PPV she’s wrestled at, and there isn’t a good reason to end it at an event like Roadblock. Charlotte will win the WWE Raw Women’s Championship at Roadblock, but she’ll most likely not keep it very long, as that seems to be the case lately with her other championship wins. As for this being a 30-minute Ironman Match between her and Sasha Banks, this will most likely be the end of their feud for a little while, setting up something new in the women’s division, which is very much needed.

3. Seth Rollins will get the victory: This is a good match for Seth Rollins to gain some momentum headed into the WWE Royal Rumble and to gain a win at Roadblock over Y2J would also end their feud, allowing more to happen with Jericho down the line. This match, although not for any championships, has a great chance of being the most entertaining and athletic match of the night. It should be very interesting to see what these two can accomplish and how it all plays out.

With these three matches seemingly being the Big 3 on the WWE Roadblock card, they have the most to offer and could really help the WWE gain momentum headed into the Royal Rumble and even WrestleMania next year. A lot of possibilities can occur this upcoming Sunday that could really make the WWE interesting headed into 2017.
