Gigi Hadid Allegedly Defends Bella Hadid In ‘Heated’ War With The Weeknd Amid Health Shocker

Gigi Hadid and her sister Bella Hadid looked hot at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, with Bella succeeding in staying in model-perfect form as her ex boyfriend The Weeknd performed. But behind the scenes, an even hotter battle allegedly took place, with Gigi taking on The Weeknd to defend her sister.

What the audience saw was Bella strutting past The Weeknd looking “cool, calm and collected,” so many sparks between them that some speculated she and her ex-boyfriend might be considering rekindling their romance, noted Hollywood Life.

But while Bella, 20, was composed on the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show runway, “her sister Gigi lost her cool while confronting” The Weeknd at the after-party, claimed the media outlet, which revealed that the 21-year-old supermodel was caught “yelling” at the singer in what was allegedly a “heated argument.”

Hollywood Life also reported that although Bella was not seen in the photo of the incident, “it’s clear Gigi is defending her.” Hadid and The Weeknd split in early November.

Bella bounced back to work following her breakup from The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, reported ET Online.

Rather than an official announcement, Hadid swapped her Abel nameplate necklace for different accessories, such as a “Bella” choker. She also shared a cryptic message in an Instagram selfie.

“Without the dark, you would never see the stars.”

As for the reason for the split, an insider told ET that Hadid and The Weeknd had problems because their schedules were so busy. After dating for a year and a half, however, the two remain friends and there remains “a great deal of love” between them.

Gigi’s alleged defense of her sister occurs amid a bombshell she just dropped about her own health.

Hadid has been a soaring success in the competitive world of modeling, but she also has been dealing with an illness, reported Time. Gigi linked her recent weight loss to her condition.

“My metabolism actually changed like crazy this year. I have Hashimoto’s disease.”

The 21-year-old shared that her thyroid disease was diagnosed two years ago and that she had not been trying to lose weight for her appearance at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show.

“It’s now been two years since taking the medication for it, so for the [Victoria’s Secret] show I didn’t want to lose any more weight,” Hadid clarified. “I just want to have muscles in the right place, and if my butt can get a little perkier, then that’s good.”

Gigi’s noticeable weight loss “raised some eyebrows at the 2016 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show,” noted UPI.

But Hadid emphasized that she does not deny herself her favorite foods. The model listed baked eggs and bacon among her favorites.

“I also like making tomato soup from scratch with grilled cheese dippers on the side,” shared Gigi. “If I can cook it with ingredients that I know are good, then I’ll eat anything. Carbs, or whatever!”

The 21-year-old is not the only one in her family to open up about a health battle. Her mother, Yolanda Hadid, has shared her own diagnosis of chronic Lyme disease, and she also has become known for her role as a vocal advocate for awareness and research. In addition, Yolanda revealed last year that Gigi’s sister Bella and her brother Anwar Hadid also have Lyme disease.

While Gigi shocked fans with her health bombshell, Hadid is not the only celebrity to reveal that she has a thyroid disease, noted E! News.

Star Trek actress Zoe Saldana noted that she follows a strict diet as a result.

“You create antibodies that attack your glands, so you have to eat clean,” she explained.

Gina Rodriguez, known for Jane the Virgin, admitted that her weight has “always been a battle,” because the disease affects her metabolism. Model Molly Sims also shared that her thyroid problems impacted her weight.

And just like Gigi, Kim Cattrall of Sex and the City fame has Hashimoto’s disease. Kim recalled that her energy “dropped,” and she even suffered from hair loss. The condition has other possible side effects but can be treated with medication.
