Real Housewives of Atlanta star Kenya Moore and her boyfriend, Matt Jordan, are clearly done. While Kenya seemed like she was ready to forgive Matt for breaking her window, the RHOA veteran is not going to stand by someone who justifies his own violent behavior. Matt, however, claimed that Kenya pushed him as she had been “verbally abusive” herself.
In the last episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta Season 9, titled “Tastes Like Trouble,” Kenya Moore revealed that she and Matt had problems after she posted a throwback photo with Jay Z. She claimed that Matt made such a big deal about the post, insinuating that he was insecure in their relationship. While she loved Matt, Kenya said he wanted to be with a confident man. Her RHOA co-star Cynthia Bailey encouraged her to re-evaluate their relationship.
“You need a strong man because you are a strong woman and he has to be strong enough to let you be you. If Matt just cannot do that then I would really re-evaluate whether or not you move forward in a relationship with him,” Cynthia said.
Later in the Real Housewives of Atlanta episode, Kenya called Cynthia again, crying. She told her that Matt came into the house drunk, wanting to speak to her. When she refused to let him in, Matt ended up kicking the window, breaking the window in her garage.
“I don’t know what to do. He’s acting out. He’s acting like a child,” Kenya told Cynthia.
Even if Kenya wanted to make her relationship work with Matt, Cynthia admitted that she just doesn’t have a good feeling about him. She encouraged him to think hard if he was really the man for her.
After they hung up, Kenya ended up crying to one of the Real Housewives of Atlanta producers. She said that deep down, Matt is a really good person, but he just has his demons. Kenya also admitted that she hadn’t been the best girlfriend to Matt and that he was probably holding grudges.
“He just feels like he’s not really supposed to be with me and it just messes with him because he’s just a regular guy that came out of nowhere. I just wasn’t the nicest person to him in the beginning and its like he holds on to all of that. I just think he resents me at this point. I don’t know what to do. I really love him but sometimes, I just, I don’t want to be fighting with him all the time.”
Kenya Moore then got on the phone with Matt Jordan, and he asked for another chance. The Real Housewives of Atlanta star felt like this is something they shouldn’t discuss over the phone and invited Matt over. But instead of working their issues, Kenya and Matt got into another heated argument. Matt tried to justify his earlier behavior, pointing out that Kenya pushed him over the edge. At one point, he even suggested that Kenya verbally abused him and treated him like a “farm animal.”
“You always make it seem like I just act out all of a sudden like it came out of nowhere and you’ve done nothing prior to it. I’m a young man. I get upset I break something but you’re disrespectful almost constantly with your mouth and that causes things to escalate.”
Matt claimed that Kenya talked to him “like a farm animal” on a daily basis. He also called her “manipulative” and “fundamentally deceptive.” But Kenya insisted that there is no justifying what Matt just did.
“You want to sit here and justify your actions? What you’re trying to tell me is, ‘Oh Kenya you’re responsible for me breaking your garage.’ The next thing it will be, ‘Kenya you’re responsible cause I whipped your ass.'”
