Kim Kardashian And Kanye West Reportedly On The Brink Of Divorce: Will Kim Leave Him After His Breakdown?
Kim Kardashian is considering major changes for 2017. Kardashian tied the knot with Kanye West over two years ago in what was a multimillion-dollar ceremony, but she’s now considering a divorce. Will the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star leave West following his mental collapse?
An insider told Us Magazine that Kardashian is taking her time making the difficult decision. The reality star, who was once married to Damon Thomas and Kris Humphries, hasn’t filed any divorce papers but is planning her exit strategy.
“It will take some time before she can do anything,” the insider noted, adding that Kardashian wants to have full custody of their two children, North (3) and Saint (1). “But she doesn’t want to stay married.”
Kardashian is already starting to put some distance between her and West. The rapper suffered a serious mental breakdown last month that landed him in the UCLA Medical Center’s Resnick Neuropsychiatric Hospital. He was held for nine days in what physician Michael Farzam called a case of “temporary psychosis.” West has since been released and is currently being treated at a home in Los Angeles.
During West’s mental breakdown, Kardashian kept the children close in the couple’s 9,000 square foot mansion in Bel Air. A friend claims the reality star “is being very protective and doesn’t want Kanye around the kids right now.”
That’s not to say that Kardashian has completely cut ties with West, at least not yet. The rapper allegedly attended a special Saint day party with the Kardashians just prior to his own birthday on December 5.
Kardashian is still weighing her options and isn’t ready to make a decision until West is back to normal. The KUWTK star has been in seclusion ever since the Paris robbery at gunpoint in October but is happy that West is starting to recover. Until he is better, Kardashian is “being a supportive wife.”
“She cares about Kanye and feels relieved he’s getting the help he needs,” the insider added. “But she’s felt trapped for a while.”
Until more information is revealed, there’s no telling what will happen between Kardashian and West. Fans can only hope that West gets the treatment he needs and the couple does whatever is best for the family.
In the meantime, Jonathan Cheban recently told E! News that Kim Kardashian is not considering a divorce. Despite all the rumors of an impending split, the reality star and close friend of Kardashian says that the couple is nowhere near a breakup.
“I just FaceTimed with Kim and Kanye and everyone’s talking about some divorce rumors and I was laughing because I didn’t hear that all day and I guess everybody else apparently here did and it’s so funny to me because it’s so not true,” Cheban revealed. “I don’t know where people come up with stories but it’s literally hysterical but Jennifer Aniston has also been pregnant like 1,000 times so it’s kind of a joke.”
TMZ backed up Cheban’s claims and added that Kardashian and West have actually grown closer in the midst of their struggles. In fact, the downtime has afforded West an opportunity to spend more time with the family than ever before.
That being said, there is little doubt that the couple has experienced a lot of stress lately. According to People, West’s hospitalization caused additional strain on Kardashian, who was still dealing with the effects of the robbery.
“Kanye and Kim had a stressful few months,” a source explained. “It’s been a tense tie. But Kim is happy he’s getting help.”
Kardashian and West have not made a public appearance since the rapper’s mental breakdown. They also have yet to comment on the status of their marriage and the rumors of a potential divorce.
