A thunderous applause greeted actor Park Bo-gum in Malaysia on Sunday evening. Nearly 3,000 fans of K-drama Moonlight Drawn By Clouds welcomed the actor at KLCC Plenary Hall at 7:30 p.m in Kuala Lumpur.

There was music, dancing, and lot of games. It was visibly evident that the fans were enjoying every bit of it.

Park Bo-gum read out fan letters addressed to him and he said that he was truly humbled.

“I will try my best to be a good actor and return your gratitude,” Park Bo-gum said, according to Star, a Korean entertainment website.

The Hallyu heartthrob made his first stop at Malaysia. Soon, he will be heading to Hong Kong, Indonesia, Taiwan, Japan, Thailand, and Singapore. The Asia tour will wrap up with a fan convention in South Korea before the end of the year, stated a report by Yonhap.

Park Bo-gum skyrocketed to fame when he played the adorable prince Lee Yeong in the K-drama Moonlight Drawn By Clouds. The drama captivated the audience across Asia.

According to Nielsen Korea, the drama took the number one spot on the prime-time ratings surpassing a viewership rating of 20 percent in September, said a report by Inquisitr.

Park Bo-gum, practice makes a man perfect. The actor in the interview said that he spent hours practicing in front of a mirror. Frequent interaction with director Kim Sung-yoon also helped bring out the best in him, he said.

“Romancing Kim Yoon-jung was especially fun. The energy and connection between the two were palpable while acting. I felt like we would look into each other’s eyes and know what the other was feeling,” the actor said. His on-screen love interest Hong Ra-on, who disguises herself as a eunuch and later reunites with the prince, held the audience in sway.

In a recent interview, when Soompi asked the actor about his soaring popularity, Park Bo-gum said, “I didn’t feel it while the drama was airing, but it hit me during fan meetings afterwards. I was surprised to see more people than I expected. I greeted them because I was so thankful, but it became even more crowded. What I realized then was that other people could be harmed due to my actions and words.”

According to Blossom Entertainment, the actor’s agency, Park’s popularity has translated into more business.

“He’s firmly established himself as a lead actor through this drama. We’re getting more than three times as many requests as before for his appearance in dramas,” said Seung Byeong-wook, a senior official at Park’s management agency Blossom Entertainment, according to a report by Inquisitr.

According to a report by All K-Pop, the Korea Institute of Corporate Reputation collected 34,665,904 pieces of data for 20 CF models. Park Bo-gum stood proudly at the top of the October data with 8,618,542 points, almost four times of his previous month data.

The actor, who is a harmonious blend of calm and cheery, is a joy to work with, according to his co-stars. Actor Kwak Dong-yeon, who played Kim Byung in Moonlight Drawn By Clouds told Soompi that Park Bo-gum was different from many other people he has come across.

Park Bo-gum will be hosting the KBS Drama Awards in Seoul on December 31. Fans of the adorable actor are hoping that he might win an award.
