‘WWE Monday Night Raw’ Preview: Historic Title Match, Big Return, And Final ‘Roadblock’ Build-Up

As United States Champion Roman Reigns looks ahead to WWE Roadblock: End of the Line and his attempt to capture the Universal Championship from Kevin Owens next weekend, The New Day and Emmalina both have big nights planned for Monday Night Raw. As the drama continues to unfold for Reigns, Owens, Chris Jericho, and Seth Rollins, the Raw Tag Team Champions are preparing for potentially the most dramatic title defense of their careers. If they can walk away from their Triple Threat Tag Team Match (with opposing teams that include Cesaro and Sheamus along with Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson), it will be just hours before The New Day officially break Demolition’s record as the longest reigning tag team champions in WWE history.

Then, in one of the most-hyped makeovers in WWE history, the formerly geeky Emma debuts her new “Emmalina” persona. The vignettes that WWE has been airing have shown a much more sensual side to the Aussie beauty. On a roster that already includes a stacked Women’s Division with talent like Sasha Banks, Charlotte Flair, Nia Jax, and Bayley, how will the former on-screen love interest of Santino Marella fit into the mix?

With just three matches confirmed for the final WWE PPV of the year, this week’s Monday Night Raw is sure to include several additions to the card for WWE Roadblock 2016. With the chance to become the first person to simultaneously hold the WWE U.S. Championship and WWE Universal Championship, Roman Reigns challenges Kevin Owens in the main event. Recently, however, The Prizefighter has been preoccupied with the apparent dissolution of his best-friendship with Chris Jericho. While Owens arranged for Y2J to face Seth Rollins at Roadblock, he inadvertently cost Chris the chance to win Roman’s United States title on WWE Raw last week.
