When Brad and Lizzie bump into each other at a Christmas tree lot their attraction to each other is undeniable. Brad is tree shopping with his teenage daughter, Abigail, who is a lover of music, and Lizzie, a music teacher, is also fascinated with the world of music. Right away, Brad and Lizzie feel as though they want to get to know each other, and hiring her as a teacher for Abigail seems like the perfect way to do it.

Abigail’s mother died, leaving Brad a widower to raise his daughter all alone. To avoid bouts of sadness, he throws himself into his work. Only this time, his work might stop his chance at finding love.

It turns out that the building that Brad has been hired to shut down is the location for the Brooklyn New Music Institute, where Lizzie teaches music. She is crushed when she finds out that the handsome Brad is the same scrooge who might close her beloved school.

Meanwhile, Abigail and Lizzie build a beautiful friendship through music. Together, they have the opportunity to show the community that when everything else fails, it’s the sound of music that speaks.
