Miranda Lambert & Blake Shelton Headline 2017 Superfest! Is Gwen Stefani Worried?

Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton will be headlining a major music festival in New Orleans next year. Fans are thrilled to find out that two of the biggest names in country music will be performing at the 2017 Bayou Country Superfest.

According to Billboard, the three-day music festival will be held over the Memorial Day holiday. There will be a free show that features Eric Paslay, Easton Corbin and Dylan Scott at Champions Square on Friday, May 26. It is located just outside the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

The former husband and wife both agreed to be part of the music event, but they will be performing on different dates. Lambert will headline the concert on Saturday, May 27 alongside Rascal Flatts, Brooks & Dunn, and Brett Eldredge. Shelton, on the other hand, is slated to perform on Sunday, May 28 together with Old Dominion, Thomas Rhett, and Hank Williams Jr.

The organizers probably didn’t want to cause any controversy, that’s why they avoided putting Miranda and Blake on the same stage on the same day. The exes almost had an awkward run-in at The ACM Awards a few months ago. Inquisitr previously reported that the “Vice” hitmaker and The Voice coach both performed at the music awards, but they were able to avoid each other.

According to Us Weekly, the ACM show was held at Ryman Auditorium in Nashville where audiences need to slide out of their seats to let one person pass which means that there is a chance that the two would bump into each other if seated on the same row. Unfortunately, the country crooner didn’t have an audience seat.

“Blake and Miranda didn’t request to be far away from each other, but they never interacted,” an insider said. “Everyone at the ACMs knew they wouldn’t want to cross paths,” another source added.

Shelton was backstage while his ex-wife was performing and by the time he was about to perform, Lambert had already left the venue. The former husband and wife also didn’t walk the red carpet and their respective partners, Stefani and East, weren’t at the event either.

It’s been over a year since Miranda Lambert and Blake Shelton got a divorce, but the two seem to find a way to avoid each other. Maybe the 40-year-old singer wanted to give Gwen Stefani security, that’s why he distances himself from his ex-wife. The No Doubt singer allegedly has trust issues probably because her ex-husband Gavin Rossdale cheated on her before. However, there were reports that Blake secretly met up with Miranda at an event in Nashville a few months ago.

“Gwen has always been insecure and jealous over Blake’s womanizing ways, but she’s going to be crushed when she learns he and Miranda are getting chummy again,” an insider revealed.

According to Radar Online, the “Came Here to Forget” singer lied to his girlfriend by telling her that he didn’t speak with the 33-year-old songstress. But sources revealed that Shelton complimented Lambert on how amazing she looks and the success of her new song.

“He said he’s been carrying around a ton of emotional baggage and guilt since they divorced last summer,” an insider said. “He told her he regretted how their split became so nasty, and even suggested he wished their marriage could have worked out. He also told her he misses her!”

Ever since that report came out, the Oklahoma-born musician has been paying more attention to his girlfriend. Maybe he realized that he doesn’t have a chance with the blonde country superstar anymore because she already has a boyfriend. Miranda Lambert even hinted that she’s ready to settle down with Anderson East.

“She wants to get married again and have children soon,” an insider said. “That has been an open conversation between her and Anderson. He wants the same.”

Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani, on the other hand, are secretly planning their wedding. According to Radar Online, the two will tie the knot at the Church of the Good Shepherd in Beverly Hills on May 5, 2017. This means that he will be married by the time he and his ex-wife perform at the 2017 Bayou Country Superfest.
