Brad Pitt’s Custody Battle With Angelina Jolie Is Reportedly Her Way Of ‘Punishing’ Him [Report]

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are reportedly locked in a bitter dispute over the custody of their six children.

Since parting ways in September after an alleged fight between Brad Pitt and his oldest adopted son, Maddox, 15, the 52-year-old actor has been limited to his visits with his kids as he reportedly fights for joint custody while Jolie battles for full physical custody of all six of their kids.

While Brad Pitt has done his best to keep his ongoing dispute with his estranged wife out of the public eye, his recent request to have his court documents sealed was declined. Now, new details regarding their legal proceedings have been shared.

According to a report by Hollywood Life on December 7, Brad Pitt’s legal team has allegedly accused Angelina Jolie of reportedly attempting to punish the actor for wanting more time with their family “by making his therapy and visitation schedule public in court papers.”

In new documents, which have been obtained by Hollywood Life, Brad Pitt’s attorney, Lance Spiegel, claims that just one day after discussing the idea of Brad Pitt getting more time with their children with Jolie’s attorney, Laura Wasser, Jolie filed an “October Stipulation.” By doing so, Jolie reportedly caused a massive leak of reportedly confidential information, including Brad Pitt’s court-ordered counseling requirements.

“The unauthorized filing of the October Stipulation was caused by Petitioner’s (Angie’s) reaction to my having advised her counsel that Respondent’s (Brad’s) time with the children should be increased,” Spiegel alleged in his response documents, adding that the stipulation “expressly provides that it not be filed with the court unless necessary for enforcement purposes.”

According to the attorney, the information included in the documents was supposed to remain private in an effort to protect Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, and their kids. Spiegel also noted that Brad Pitt had been in “full compliance of their agreement” and said there was no reason for Jolie to make the documents public. As Hollywood Life pointed out, Spiegel was “basically” saying that Jolie was only looking to hurt and punish Brad Pitt by making the “October Stipulation” public.

As Brad Pitt’s legal battle continues, he is reportedly in jeopardy of not getting to see his children on Christmas.

“If a child says they don’t want to see [Brad Pitt] on Christmas, the psychiatrist isn’t going to force them,” a source told People Magazine, via a report by Celebs Now on December 8. “That’s the whole purpose of this agreement.”

As fans may recall, Brad Pitt made a temporary agreement with his wife that required the actor and his kids to attend counseling as he continued to be limited to monitored visits with them.

“[Brad Pitt] has not seen his children alone without a monitored therapist since the plane incident… Angelina has not left the children’s side since the plane incident. She still has not completed her film [First They Killed My Father]. She has been with them the whole time trying to make sure they heal,” the source explained.

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s relationship began on the set of Mr. & Mrs. Smith and continued for 12 years. During their relationship, Brad Pitt and his now-estranged wife welcomed three children biologically, including daughter Shiloh, 10, and their youngest children, twins Vivienne and Knox, 8, and also adopted three children from other countries, including Maddox from Cambodia, Pax from Vietnam, and Zahara from Ethiopia.

In August of 2014, after about 10 years of dating, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie got married at their home in France surrounded by their six kids. Then, on September 19, just weeks after celebrating their two-year wedding anniversary, Jolie filed for divorce and requested full physical custody of their kids.
