Kanye West ‘Turbo Grafx 16’ Tracklist Leaked: New Album Song Titles Or Video Game Samples List Revealed?

Has the Kanye West Turbo Grafx 16 tracklist been leaked online? With rumors that one of hip-hop music’s top artists is working on a brand new album, there’s been speculation online over some possible song titles for Kanye’s upcoming work. However, there has also been contention over whether or not the names of the tracks would even make sense as songs on a new Kanye West album.

According to a December 8 report from Spin, Kanye’s upcoming album is rumored to be titled Turbo Grafx 16 an ode to a classic video game console. He’s been reportedly working in the studio with another top notch hip-hop producer, Pete Rock, and recently a series of video clips surfaced from the studio. In those clips, neither Pete Rock or Kanye are shown, but astute viewers quickly caught wind of a list laying on the control board.

The sheet shows off a list of titles, many of which have the names of popular video games on them. That quickly brought speculation about what the listing was. There are those suggesting that it’s the new album’s tracklist, while others claim it wouldn’t make sense and that it’s possibly a list of song samples being compiled for the new album. Among the track titles are “Metroid Other,” “New Super Mario Bros,” “Silent Hill,” “Resident Evil,” and “Red Steel 2.” Below is a look at the full list of games or potential songs.

1. Metroid Other
2. Muramasa the Demon Blade
3. New Super Mario Bros
4. No More Heroes 2
5. Okapi
6. Pikmin 2
7. Rabbids Go Home
8. Red Steel 2
9. Resident Evil
10. Silent Hill
11. Sin & Punishment 2
12. Sonic Colors
13. Super Mario Galaxy Pt. 1 & Pt. 2
14. Tatsunoko vs. Capcom

Kanye’s last studio album was The Life of Pablo, which the rapper released exclusively to the Tidal music service back in February. It included hit songs “Famous,” “Wolves,” and most recently “Fade.” West first unveiled the album at a fashion show party he held at Madison Square Garden where his wife, Kim Kardashian, and other members of the Kardashian family attended to celebrate the release. The album ultimately reached the top of the U.S. Billboard 200 chart and did so with over half of its sales coming from streaming.

West first announced that he’d be releasing the new album Turbo Grafx 16 over the summer, but that has come and gone. In recent weeks, the rap star suffered from a variety of health issues requiring his hospitalization, according to Hollywood Life. Over the Thanksgiving weekend, Kanye was suffering from a temporary psychosis due to sleep deprivation and dehydration. He also was said to be hospitalized due to suffering paranoia, but now appears to be back on track in the studio.

In addition to the exciting news that Kanye seems to be working on a new album release, is the fact he’s working with fellow hip-hop producer Pete Rock. The member of the classic rap duo Pete Rock & CL Smooth most recently released the new collaborative album Don’t Smoke Rock along with rapper Smoke DZA. Pete Rock has also teamed up with Kanye in the past, releasing the song “The Joy” on the Watch The Throne album.

It looks like good news for his friends, family, and fans that Kanye is back out and working on his craft. The recent reports and videos of studio sessions indicate that some great new music may soon be on the way. Perhaps Kanye has decided to lose himself in the world of video games and unveil some new classic songs based on the themes that made video game fans become addicted to the likes of Super Mario, Sonic, and Samus Aran of Metroid fame.

Could this latest list of titles really be Kanye West’s new Turbo Grafx 16 tracklist, or is it simply a samples list, or even just a list of games Kanye is playing while he gets his creative juices flowing?
