Amber Portwood is unhappy with MTV. Following an explosive Teen Mom OG reunion, OK! Magazine reports that Portwood slammed the network over how they edited her epic fight with Farrah Abraham. Is this a sign that Portwood isn’t returning next season?
“F**k @MTV they cut half of what happened out!!” Portwood wrote.
As fans will recall, Portwood stormed the stage during the reunion to confront Abraham, who said some pretty nasty things about her fiancé, Matt Baier. While it seemed like the majority of the fight was aired, Portwood claims that the network cut certain portions out.
“Wow eight years and this is what I get,” she later added. “I’ve worked too hard on myself for this bull***t.”
Portwood accused MTV of cutting out a scene between Matt and Abraham’s father, Michael. Apparently, things got pretty heated between the two men, with Michael eventually getting physical with Baier.
“They cut out Michael literally screaming in my face calling me a bi**h and him putting his hands on Matt’s neck… disgusted,” she wrote.
According to Hollywood Life, Abraham slammed Portwood’s future husband by admitting he looks like a “pedophile.” The comment angered Portwood so much that she came out from backstage and confronted Abraham face to face.
Security guards kept the women from hitting each other and Portwood claims that she never wanted to get physical. Of course, Portwood was shown taking a swipe at Abraham when she tried to leave the set.
“If I was going out there to hit her than I would have. Just wanted her to say it to my face and of course, she didn’t…let’s be honest,” Portwood stated.
For her part, Us Magazine is reporting that Abraham is worried about her safety. To ensure that nothing happens, MTV allowed Abraham to skip out on the rest of the Teen Mom reunion production and doesn’t want her around Portwood, Maci Bookout, or Catelynn Lowell.
“I didn’t have to attend the rest of the reunion or specials [because of what I consider Amber’s] criminal behavior,” Abraham shared. “MTV legal has said I no longer will ever have to work with or around Maci, Catelynn or Amber. They are not to be trusted, and the network knows how to keep them sequestered together and myself separate from now on.”
Abraham also asserted that Portwood’s fiancée ruined her dad’s hearing aids. According to Perez Hilton, MTV is providing the funds to fix the hearing aids and the network is hopeful that no legal action is taken. MTV has not officially commented on the Teen Mom OG reunion fight.
“MTV is covering the costs to fix my dad’s hearing aids, as well as all leg injuries and other bills and costs that were requested by my dad’s lawyer since MTV knew and put my family around criminals and the instigated fight,” Abraham claims. “MTV is diligently keeping my dad happy so they hope my dad won’t press charges but has every right too.”
With Abraham no longer having to film with three of her co-stars, it isn’t clear how MTV will move forward with the next season. Given the drama Abraham drummed up during the finale, it’s fairly certain that she will be back in action next year.
As far as Portwood is concerned, her future on the show is less certain. Given her comments on social media, the reality star is clearly unhappy with how MTV handled the situation. Whether or not this is enough for her to walk away from the show is yet to be seen.
The new season of Teen Mom OG is expected to premiere sometime in 2017, with production starting in a couple of months.
