Dorit Kemsley ‘RHOBH’: Newbie Was Apprehensive About Meeting ‘RHOBH’ Ladies
Dorit Kemsley is the newest member of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and she joined as a friend of Lisa Vanderpump. It’s no secret that Lisa felt betrayed by her co-stars last season and she even considered leaving the show if she couldn’t get some of her friends to join in support of her. And it sounds like Vanderpump may have told Dorit about some of the things that happened last season, as Kemsley admits to knowing about the drama that went down last year. So when Dorit and her husband were invited to Erika Girardi’s birthday party, she admits that she was apprehensive about meeting some of the ladies.
According to a new Bravo report, Dorit Kemsley is now revealing how close she is with Lisa Vanderpump and Ken Todd. As she pointed out on the show, she’s been friends with them for years and she and her husband enjoy their company. And as a friend, Kemsley may have listened to Vanderpump’s complaining last year about the drama that went down on the show. And maybe Kemsley had no intentions of joining the show when she was giving her friend some advice on how to handle the situation.
“Both Lisa Vanderpump and Ken Todd are very good friends of my husband and I, and we try to get together socially at least once a week for dinner. We enjoyed meeting Kyle and Mauricio. They are such a lovely couple and clearly very in love with one another. We all really hit it off from the beginning. Kyle and I bonded over kids, fashion, traveling and the love of our husbands. She’s super funny and warm and I knew from the second I met her that we’d have a lot of fun together,” Dorit Kemsley explains in her blog for Bravo about why she decided to join The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
It is also possible that Dorit Kemsley has watched the show for herself over the past couple of years and knows exactly how Vanderpump was treated by the other ladies and how the other ladies felt they were treated by Vanderpump. But since Dorit is friends with the original housewife, she may take sides. And Kemsley admits in her blog that she was worried and apprehensive about meeting the other ladies, as she had some information about them and their behavior.
“I knew that Lisa V had an unfortunate experience with some of the other ladies on the show last year, mainly Lisa Rinna and Eileen Davidson, so I will admit that I was a little apprehensive about meeting them for the first time with Lisa. But nonetheless I wanted to make my own conclusions and start off our relationship without any judgment of what went down the previous year,” Dorit Kemsley continues in her blog for The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills.
As the ladies revealed on the first episode of season seven, it sounds like much of the drama has been left in the past. Erika Girardi was ready to move on and she didn’t want to dwell on the past issues she had been having with Vanderpump. In addition, Eileen Davidson didn’t seem to care too much about the past and Kyle Richards knew that she would always have some issues with the housewife. But it sounds like Vanderpump has no interest in making up with Lisa Rinna, which could be where Dorit Kemsley’s apprehension came in.
