Kate Middleton: Find Out What She And Her Royal Family Have Planned For The Holidays

Kate Middleton and her husband, Prince William, as well as his brother, Prince Harry, have all been extended an invitation to a special Christmas party. It is certainly an invitation that the trio would not think of turning down as they will be the guests of honor at the annual general meeting and Heads Together party that is hosted by youth support service, The Mix. The gathering is to celebrate the charity’s volunteers and counselors.

Prior to the party, Prince William and Prince Harry will join a group session involving counselors and volunteers sharing their knowledge and experiences about handling a variety of issues that focus on supporting people who are suicidal and also assisting young people who are facing homelessness. The Duchess will be joining in on a live online chat about counseling with the volunteers and also with youth from across Britain and the United Kingdom.

There will then be a festive Christmas party reception to follow. The royals will have a chance to meet and mingle with volunteers and to hear about volunteers’ work that has touched the lives of those they have assisted.

As Hello relays, the trio will then ” kick off The Mix Annual Awards by presenting the Volunteer of the Year Award.” The Duke and Duchess, as well as Prince Harry, have likely been invited to a number of Christmas parties this year. The Mix is one of the eight charities that makes up the Heads Together campaign, which was initiated by the young royals. Its aim is commendable seeing as it seeks to change the negative stigma usually attached to mental health issues. The Mix focuses on supporting youth and young adults aged between 13 and 25 through any trials and hardships they may be facing including anything from finding a job to homelessness.

The campaign was launched by William, Kate, and Harry back in May via the Royal Foundation, and the trio had already advocated for those suffering from mental issues prior to the campaign’s launch. Prince William spoke about the initiative begun by him, his wife, and Prince Harry.

“Mental health is not a dirty word. We all have mental health like we do physical health, good or ill. But not seeking help at those times when it all seems too much, or we are depressed or anxious, can impact the rest of our lives. Put simply, the three of us want to make asking for help no longer a big deal.”

The royals will be getting ready for more holiday cheer, as they prepare to attend a pre-Christmas lunch that is hosted at Buckingham Palace and is organized by the Queen. This generally takes place one week prior to Christmas, and invitations are given to the whole extended family. On Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, select members of the family are invited to Sandringham House to celebrate with the Queen and Prince Philip. Guests for the traditional celebration usually begin to arrive on December 23 and over the years, Prince Charles and his wife have proven to be the last to arrive. In addition to a celebration with the royals, William and Kate will also take their children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, to spend time with the Middletons, Kate’s family. The Duchess’ mother and father reside in Berkshire and Kate has always insisted that she and William carry on a tradition that involves private time with them over the holidays.

Although Prince Harry has begun a relationship with actress Meghan Markle, it’s been reported by royal experts that it is too soon for the new love interest of Harry to be invited to take part in any of the traditional royal Christmas festivities, as Entertainment Tonight notes. Harry and Meghan will no doubt find a way to celebrate the holidays, regardless.
