Champions League Preview, Tottenham Vs. CSKA Moscow: Prediction, Possible Lineups, And Betting Tips
With both teams having failed to qualify for the knock-out round of Champions League, Tottenham and CSKA Moscow are set to square off during the final group game, which will determine their Europa League fate.
The winner of this match will progress to the Europa League as the third-place side, although that might be more of a curse than a blessing, especially for the Spurs. This is because Thursday night matches may not help their Premier League cause.
A disappointing 2-1 defeat away to AS Monaco in previous group match shattered the Champions League dreams of Tottenham this season. With only four points from five matches, the home side is in the third position of the group table.

CSKA Moscow also has suffered similar fortunes like Tottenham, as they have also failed to progress to the last 16 of the Champions League.
With just three points credited to them, the Russian side are at the bottom of the Group E table. However, a win against Tottenham will take them to the Europa League.
When these two teams met on matchday two in Moscow, Tottenham had beaten CSKA by 1-0, thanks to Heung-Min Son’s late goal.
Team News: Tottenham
Manager Mauricio Pochettino confirmed that Ben Davies and Erik Lamela will miss the game due to their knee and hip injuries, respectively.
Vincent Janssen is a doubt for this match with an ankle sprain. Toby Alderweireld resumed his training for the hosts, but he remains doubtful to start the match against the Russian side.
Harry Kane, who is the leading scorer for Tottenham, will be a key player for the home side.
Christian Eriksen, who scored twice during the 5-0 thrashing of Swansea last weekend, is likely to spark a creativity in Tottenham’s midfield.
Since Europa League qualification doesn’t hold too much importance for Mauricio Pochettino’s team, youngsters Josh Onomah, Cameron Carter-Vickers, and Harry Winks could all get some game time.
