‘WWE Monday Night Raw’ Results: Seth Rollins ‘Wants Triple H’ — Iron Man Match Confirmed For ‘Roadblock’

As the WWE Universe continues to reel after the surprise heel turn from James Ellsworth at WWE TLC 2016, the WWE Superstars from Monday Night Raw prepare for WWE Roadblock: End of the Line in less than two weeks. The newly-crowned Women’s Champion Sasha Banks challenged three-time former champion Charlotte Flair to an Iron Man Match, while Seth Rollins made it clear why he’s targeting Chris Jericho and Roman Reigns on his way to getting his hands on Triple H.

WWE Monday Night Raw Results

The following includes the results of all the matches and segments from WWE Raw on December 5, which aired live from the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas. Raw has won the “ratings war” ever since the separate rosters were established, although SmackDown Live has been keeping the competition close. Will the ratings victory streak remain alive as this week’s Monday Night Raw sets things up for WWE Roadblock: End of the Line?

Raw Pre-Show on the WWE Network

What was previously a 30-minute pre-show hosted by Scott Stanford was replaced this week by a 10-minute pre-show co-hosted by Booker T and Charly Caruso beginning at 7:50/6:50c. They aired a brief segment showing Bayley being confronted by Alicia Fox, setting up a match for Monday Night Raw, and a match between Mark Henry and Titus O’Neil.

Kevin Owens interrupted Seth Rollins

After a newly-designed “Previously on Raw” summary that opened the show more like a traditional episodic television drama, Seth Rollins came out for an in-ring promo. He said that he ultimately wants to get his hands on Triple H, but knows that Hunter won’t simply respond to being called out. His only option to get Triple H’s attention is to win the Universal Championship, a task that would require getting Chris Jericho out of the way.

This brought out Kevin Owens, who announced that Rollins would face Chris Jericho at WWE Roadblock, that Owens would face Sami Zayn on Raw, and that the first match of the night would be Seth Rollins vs. The Big Show. He also announced that Chris Jericho would face Roman Reigns for the WWE United States Championship later in the show.

Seth Rollins defeated The Big Show by count out

With Kevin Owens yelling from the apron for The Big Show to finish Seth Rollins off, it looked like the slimmed-down (395 pounds) giant might get the win. Instead, he pulled the WWE Universal Champion into the ring and delivered a chokeslam before walking away and getting counted out. With Owens left prone in the ring, Rollins took the opportunity to deliver a Pedigree to the champ before returning to the locker room.

Jack Gallagher defeated Ariya Daivari

As one of the most animated and interesting cruiserweight wrestlers in the company, “The Extraordinary Gentleman” Jack Gallagher was given an opportunity to prove himself in front of the WWE Universe on Monday Night Raw. He got a clean win over Ariya Daivari, and offered a handshake after the match. Daivari attacked Gallagher instead, and specifically attacked his knee. It’s likely the issue will be addressed on 205 Live.

Lana invited Enzo to her hotel room

After Lana and Rusev had a very public fight backstage, the Bulgarian Brute stormed off. Enzo asked Colin Cassady to leave him alone with the Ravishing Russian. After a commercial break, Lana invited Enzo to her hotel room before saying something in Russian and walking off. Needless to say, Enzo was very excited.

In a later segment, just after Enzo left to get ready for his trip to Lana’s hotel room, Rusev ran into Big Cass while looking for his wife. After an unpleasant exchanging of words, a match was set up between the two for Monday Night Raw.

Kevin Owens defeated Sami Zayn

The WWE Universal Champion got a clean win over his long-time rival Sami Zayn. No one else made an appearance in this match, including Braun Strowman or Mick Foley. Strowman didn’t make an appearance on Raw this week, however, so his feud with the Zayn could continue.

Sasha Banks challenged Charlotte Flair to an Iron Man Match at ‘Roadblock’

In a backstage interview with Charly Caruso, Sasha Banks said that she looked forward to her rematch with Charlotte and challenged her to make it an Iron Man Match at Roadblock. The stipulation was confirmed by the end of the show, and Banks rush to the ring after Flair slapped her father.

Rich Swann defeated TJ Perkins

Preparing for his rematch against The Brian Kendrick on this week’s 205 Live, WWE Cruiserweight Champion Rich Swann got a solid victory over the former champion, TJ Perkins. No mention was made as to whether or not the title will be defended at Roadblock: End of the Line.

Bayley defeated Alicia Fox

This match came to be after Alicia Fox grew jealous of Bayley giving Cedric Alexander one of her teddy bears from the WWE Shop as a Christmas gift. The match was fairly short, and Bayley went over using the Bayley-to-Belly Suplex.

Mark Henry defeated Titus O’Neil

In an attempt to get people hyped about the “Titus Brand,” O’Neil was promoting this match as the “Tussle in Texas.” It was a very quick match that Mark Henry won with the World’s Strongest Slam.

Roman Reigns defeated Chris Jericho

The United States Champion successfully defended his title even after Kevin Owens tried to assist Chris Jericho. Roman Reigns kicked out of the Codebreaker, Owens unintentionally distracted Y2J, and Reigns eventually connected with a spear that earned him the victory. Things are still tense between Jeri-KO and Reigns is still the US Champion.

Rusev attacked Enzo Amore at the hotel

When Rusev no-showed for his match against Big Cass, it was clear to Colin that the whole thing had been a set-up. Unfortunately for Enzo, he ignored Cassady’s phone call, and he was stripped to his underwear before he realized it was all a ruse. Rusev came out of the hotel bathroom and gave Enzo a pretty severe beating before dragging him out to the hotel hallway.

The New Day caused a “no contest” finish for Gallows & Anderson vs. Cesaro & Sheamus

The New Day were seated at ringside in bean bag chairs with popcorn for this match to determine who would face them for the Raw Tag Team Championship next week. When all three teams collided outside the ring, Big E’s offensive response resulted in the match being called without a clear winner.

Charlotte Flair slapped Ric Flair and laid out Sasha Banks

After showing a replay of how she humiliated her father on Monday Night Raw in May, Charlotte asked Ric Flair to come to the ring so that she could apologize. After saying sorry and hugging her father, she asked him for one more hug. When he went in for it, however, Charlotte slapped him instead and cursed him for raising Sasha’s hand at the conclusion of their match last week.

These actions brought out the new Raw Women’s Champion, but Charlotte never gave her the opportunity to get in any offense. After a pretty intense beating, Charlotte laid out a beaten Banks in front of her father before leaving the ring.

The above WWE Raw results have been corroborated by WWE’s official Monday Night Raw page.
