‘Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol. 2’ Most Viewed Marvel Studios Teaser Trailer — Cast Member Chris Pratt Impressed — ‘Fox On The Run’ On Soundtrack?

James Gunn’s Guardians Of Galaxy Vol. 2 teaser trailer did phenomenal in its viewings when it was recently released. “The Fox on the Run” song by Sweet played behind the footage which rose to No. 1 on the iTunes chart. It does remain to be seen if it’s on the soundtrack. If it isn’t, it does give insight on what to expect on the movie’s musical tunes.

Cast And Fan Reaction

Director Gunn was so excited about the trailer’s success, he took to Facebook to thank his fans for viewing the clip more than once and appreciated their support of the Baby Groot and Mantis characters. Chris Pratt, who plays Star-Lord, was just as floored as James on the teaser’s page view count of 81 million views in the first 24 hours.

“WHAAAATTTT!?!?!?”

Director Gunn was so caught up in the excitement, he asked fans of his Facebook page to start posting Baby Groot memes in the comments section. The helmer shared the following.

The enthusiasm for the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 took place even three months ago when Vin Diesel took to his Facebook account in the same fashion. He was speechless in the beginning and Gunn was next to him explaining what his friend and Groot cast member had just seen. He said it was more footage of what was already viewed at the 2016 San Diego Comic Con. He mentioned how talented Michael Rooker was and noted Dave Bautista’s hilarity, regardless of the latter’s wrestling background. James talked about the “raw humility” regarding Bautista.

Diesel definitely feels that Chris Pratt was “born to play Peter Quill,” while James talked about how they had to try out 30 people for the Star-Lord part. At first he didn’t want to cast Pratt because of his weight and how he was more of a comedy character that worked on NBC’s Parks and Recreation.

Will The Trailer Song Be In Movie Soundtrack?

It does remain to be seen that the catchy song is a track off of Peter Quill’s mother’s cassette tape that was revealed at the end of Guardians of the Galaxy. Of course if “Hooked on a Feeling” was in the first trailer, would this mean this teaser trailer song will also be on the soundtrack?

The British group Sweet is responsible for this song as it also has appeared in movies like Catch.44, Detroit Rock City, When in Rome, and Dazed And Confused. Bustle understood how catchy the song is considering it works well with these films. Now if it bodes well to come out in the Guardians 2 movie’s soundtrack, this would be just the right flick that would embody that song.

Mantis And Baby Groot In Action

The funny scene with Mantis, as played by Pom Klementieff, shows off her abilities and thus outing Star-Lord to Gamora. At first glance, some may think there was a romantic connection between Mantis and Peter Quill, but apparently, there’s a rumor going around about her being Quill’s half sister.

Baby Groot was a young sapling of sorts throughout the trailer and is also rumored to be the same in a larger portion of the movie. It would make sense because the teaser did give a hint on how much he had to offer and the delivery gave quite the amusing dialogue with Rocket. He’s trying to learn the aspects of what danger really is as if he were a real-life child. Hopefully, should Baby Groot get to full size, he’ll learn what’s life threatening and what is not.

The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 clip was the second biggest teaser trailer according to James Gunn, and the movie debuts come May 5, 2017. So get your vintage Walkman’s out of the backs of your closets and get ready to jam to the latest Vol. 2 soundtrack.
