Lisa Vanderpump Upset With Scheana Shay After Divorce Goes Public

Lisa Vanderpump seems caught in the middle of a very public divorce between Mike and Scheana Shay from her Vanderpump Rules reality show. ET Online reported that, while Vanderpump said that she is very protective of Scheana Shay, she doesn’t like how things involved in the relationship have gone public.

Last season on Vanderpump Rules, Scheana Shay confronted her husband about his drug addiction issues. The fact that this was done with cameras rolling made Vanderpump very upset with her costars.

“I’m very protective of Scheana, and with what went down last year — you know, what she talked about [with Mike’s] addiction — I felt really quite incensed because I have a lot of sympathy for people with addiction.”

The drug addiction in question is an addiction to prescription pills. The marriage between Mike and Scheana Shay only lasted two years before it broke down. After making the public announcement that Mike had his addiction, the two filed for divorce this year.

According to Bravo TV, the divorce is amicable, and the two say that they plan to remain friends following the divorce. They announced in a joint press release that they decided their relationship was misguided and chose to end it now rather than continue.

“We might have failed at our marriage, but we are committed to succeeding as friends and will continue to support each other’s personal happiness and professional success.”

When asked about the divorce of her Vanderpump Rules co-stars, Lisa Vanderpump said that she as disappointed in the fact that the marriage took place at all since Scheana Shay didn’t know what she was getting involved with when it comes to the relationship.

“Scheana’s a great girl, she really is, and to see this fairytale come to an end, it was quite disheartening, really. They are young and they’re growing up.”

Lisa Vanderpump did mention that what people have seen on the Vanderpump Rules TV show was rather authentic and that things would be difficult to watch down the line when it comes to the couple.

Lisa Vanderpump said that the two had known each other for so long that this divorce will cause “splinter effects” and there will be ramifications that will play out on Vandeerpump Rules in the future. It is just sad that the relationship seemed doomed from the start, something that Lisa is discouraged by.

Vanderpump Rules is not the only place that fans can see Lisa Vanderpump in the future either. ET Online reported that this week, Real Housewives of Beverly Hills is back for a brand new seventh season and Lisa is returning to the cast of the show.

The star is returning to RHOBH and will be bringing a friend with her in Dorit Kemsley. Lisa also said that fans would get exactly what they are used to because things “get heated” as they normally do when you throw six strong-headed women together in this setting.

“I think it’s the whole premise of putting six women together and trips and this and that and the only premise of reality television is to always speak your truth, so there ya go!”

Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season seven will debut on Tuesday night, December 6, at 9 p.m. EST.
