Rapper Jay Z celebrated turning 47 with a private dinner attended by friends and family over the weekend. Of course, Beyonce coordinated the dinner to be as private as possible. Hollywood Life reported the couple decorated the venue with dark-colored drapes for added privacy as they celebrated Jay's birthday. Beyonce's mom, Tina, and her past bandmate and friend Kelly Rowland were both seen entering the intimate party held at French restaurant Republique on December 3.
Hollywood Life refers to Republique as a "Hollywood hot spot," saying many other celebs have been spotting dining at the eatery. Us Magazine reported Jay's birthday dinner was much more "low-key" than Beyonce's last birthday bash, which was attended by stars such as Usher and Alicia Keys. In September, they rang in Beyonce's 35th birthday with a Soul Train-themed party in New York, reported Us Magazine. The bash was complete with sparklers atop her cake, '70s outfits, and their daughter Blue Ivy wishing her mom a happy birthday.
The couple is known for keeping their personal lives private, so fans shouldn't be surprised at a lack of photos or details on Jay Z's big day. In fact, People reported Bey and Jay had the restaurant hang tarps so people couldn't see them as they entered. The article also called Jay's birthday dinner "super private" as it shared only a few photos of guests arriving. However, Beyonce did take their relationship quite public as she aired out their dirty laundry through her Lemonade album. It was one of the first times fans got a true glimpse into the highly-protected lives of Beyonce and Jay Z.
The songstress released the album after she and her husband were rumored to be suffering marital issues, according to E! News. The couple seems to have worked through their problems as Jay Z joined Beyonce on stage during her latest tour. They were even photographed sharing an on-stage kiss during Jay Z's "Get Out The Vote" concert last month, much to the relief of concerned fans.
While Beyonce didn't take to social media to wish her hubby a happy birthday—her last Instagram post is from a week ago—actress Gwyneth Paltrow did. Paltrow shared a black-and-white photo of "Uncle Jay" with her two kids, Apple and Moses. According to the Daily Mail, Paltrow considers Bey and Jay like family having known them since 2003.Beyonce did share a photo with Jay on her Instagram a month ago, and fans have taken to wishing the rap mogul a happy birthday in the comments. The couple seems to be in good spirits in the pic as they both smile while walking out of a building. Despite their past drama, Bey and Jay seem to have recovered their relationship just fine as they celebrate another birthday together. The couple made headlines in October as they shared their Halloween costumes via social media. They dressed as Barbie and Ken, and they didn't spare any details. Fans were delighted to see them come together for the holiday with such a unique costume as the photo received over two million "likes." Fans took to commenting on the photo to show their support of the power couple with things such as "Favorite couple ever!!" and "you have a beautiful family bey." Fans also wished Jay Z a happy birthday on the past photo to help celebrate the day. While details on Jay's intimate party may be a secret, it's no secret that this couple has once again fallen in love as they continue to be one of Hollywood's power couples.
