‘Love & Hip Hop New York’ Star Yandy Smith Admits That Her Marriage To Mendeecees Harris Is Not Legal

Last week, it was leaked by Fameolous that Yandy Smith’s marriage to Mendeecees Harris might not be 100 percent legit but at that point, everything was just a rumor that looked like it started with one of Mendeecees’ baby mamas. Even though the pair were married in a huge Love & Hip Hop special, it has been learned that they did, in fact, fail to actually get married. Yandy has confessed that she and Mendeecees didn’t legally tie the knot before he headed off to prison and the reason they chose not to make things legal is pretty surprising.

Based on a report from Starcasm, Yandy Smith is about to come clean about her non-marriage on an upcoming episode of Love & Hip Hop New York. In a clip with Juelz Santana and Kimbella, Yandy is expected to confess what she and Mendeecees did (or didn’t do.) Now that Yandy and Kimbella have made up, she confides in her friend that the marriage was all fake.

Yandy and Mendeecees are said to have purposefully left a signature off of their marriage license so that it wouldn’t be processed. The reason for the marriage fake-out was to keep Mendeecees’ other baby mamas out of Yandy’s money while he’s in prison. Apparently, when someone is incarcerated, at least in some states, the mothers of his other children can come after his spouse to collect child support. Obviously, Yandy and Mendeecees wanted to avoid having Samantha or Erika come after her.

Viewers haven’t found out for sure yet but it’s starting to look like that is the reason why Erika and Samantha teamed up for Season 7 of Love & Hip Hop New York and have already come after Yandy.

Normally when something is going to air on an upcoming LHHNY episode, those involved in the drama will stay silent about it on social media and in interviews. It looks like this is the case for Yandy’s drama too because Mendeecees’ “wife” isn’t talking about her fake marriage or the fact that VH1 footed the bill for a huge (and beautiful) wedding and even gave the couple a well-publicized wedding special to highlight their love.

The initial report about the faked marriage also claimed that Love & Hip Hop New York creator Mona Scott-Young had no idea until recently that Yandy and Mendeecees didn’t actually get married in that expensive wedding special that she put on for them. The report also claimed that Mona was really upset when she found out that it was all for show and probably felt pretty duped.

While it hasn’t been confirmed and this is merely speculation, Yandy and Mendecees’ wedding fakery could be the reason Mona decided to bring Samantha and Erika on Season 7 of Love & Hip Hop New York to confront Yandy. With news that Yandy will confess what she did to Kimbella possibly on the next episode, it’s very possible that she will have to deal with the baby mama fallout pretty soon as well.

The drama is getting even hotter on Season 7 of Love & Hip Hop New York, especially for Yandy Smith as she deals with the mothers of Mendecees Harris’ children. Be sure to tune in to VH1 on Mondays at 8/7c to see how this all plays out.
