The New York Giants visit the Pittsburgh Steelers in perhaps the biggest match-up of the NFL season's Week 13 on Sunday that will live stream as two of the league's most storied franchises battle in an inter-conference showdown that carries serious playoff implications for both teams.
The Giants will be visiting Pittsburgh for the first time since 2008, when New York came away on top 21-14. In fact, in the last five games between the two perennial NFL powerhouses, going back to 1994, the teams have alternated victories, with the Steelers winning the most recent confrontation in 2012, by a 24-20 score.
Sunday's game also features a match-up of two of the game's best quarterbacks, both go them two-time Super Bowl winners, as the Giants' Eli Manning goes against Pittsburgh's Big Ben Roethlisberger.
Roethlisberger has been solid at home this season, winning three of the four games that he has started at Heinz Field. But the Steelers lost Roethlisberger's most recent home outing, in Week 10, when they fell to the Dallas Cowboys — the team with the NFL's best record at 11-1 — 35-30. But the four-time Pro Bowler passed for an 80 percent completion rate with three touchdowns and 408 yards in the losing effort.
At 6-5, the Steelers are tied atop the AFC North with the Baltimore Ravens, meaning that Pittsburgh will likely need to win the division to secure a playoff spot this season — making a win over the 8-3 Giants a must.
Manning has the visitors on a six-game winning streak after a three-game skid earlier in the season.
