Kardashians Canceled? Kanye West’s Mental Breakdown Triggers ‘KUWTK’ Rumors

Have the Kardashians been canceled?

Just one week after Kanye West was hospitalized for what’s being reported as a “mental breakdown,” rumors that Keeping Up With The Kardashians has been canceled have surfaced. A few days ago, TMZ reported that production on the reality show was halted — temporarily — due to the recent family developments.

“Sources connected with the production tell us producers have enough footage for the series commitment, but the plan was to film through the holidays, and that won’t happen. We’re told Kanye’s hospitalization has temporarily shut down production [on Keeping Up With The Kardashians], but Kim has been in such bad shape since the robbery that there was no real hope of shooting anything through December,” reports TMZ.

Rumors the Kardashians’ show is canceled seem very believable given what has transpired over the past few months — and maybe longer. It hasn’t been an easy road for Kim, Kourtney, and Khloe, all of whom had life-altering things happen to them over the past year.

First, Khloe Kardashian got the scare of a lifetime when her ex, Lamar Odom, overdosed on drugs at a Nevada-area brothel and almost died. Then, Kourtney Kardashian split from her longtime beau, Scott Disick, after years of problems that just weren’t getting any better (it was actually reported today that the two have gotten back together).

The most recent events in the saga that is the Kardashians have led people to believe that KUWTK is ending. In October, Kim Kardashian’s robbery in Paris made headlines. The reality star claims that she was held at gunpoint and robbed — she has been laying low, reportedly riddled with anxiety ever since.

And now, we have Kanye West, who was rushed to the hospital last week. According to E! News, Kanye has been released after receiving treatment.

“Kanye came home for several reasons. Saint and North being one. Kanye is feeling better but is seeking outpatient support and help,” a source told the site.

So, what about the Kardashians being canceled and will the show actually go on?

According to Variety, there are still cameras following the Kardashians around. A spokesperson for E! told the site that production on Keeping Up With The Kardashians was ongoing, but didn’t elaborate. It is unknown if any of this new Kanye West breakdown stuff will air on the show or if he and Kim are still allowing cameras on them at this time.

The Kardashians canceled rumors are hard to believe if you remember back to the deal that the family signed back in 2015. The $100 million contract they signed with E! will keep the show on the air for two more seasons (they inked a four-year deal at the time).

According to Page Six, the Kardashians’ deal was “the highest in TV history for a reality brand.”

According to the report, the deal will keep momager Kris Jenner and her kids, Kim, Khloé, Kourtney, Kendall, and Kylie Jenner on the show through 2017 (and beyond). The only people who weren’t included in the deal were Rob Kardashian, Caitlyn Jenner, Lamar Odom, Kanye West, and Scott Disick.

If the Kardashians were canceled, an announcement would likely have already been made. And since Kanye West wasn’t involved in the deal and he doesn’t need the money, he isn’t required to appear on camera, so there’s that.

Do you think that E! cameras have been filming all of the crazy stuff that has been happening to the Kardashians? What do you make of Kanye West’s breakdown? Do you think he will be done with reality television for a while?

Do you think that the Kardashians’ will ever get canceled?

You can watch the current season of Keeping Up With The Kardashians airs on Sunday nights.
