‘The Originals’ Season 4: Release Date, Cast Gives Up Juicy Details And More

The Originals Season 4 is returning to CW midseason with 13 episodes. The release date is March 17, 2017 and some of the cast members have giving us some details about the fourth season ahead of the premiere during the San Diego Comic-Con.

The co-creator of The Vampire Diaries and The Originals revealed that fans can expect some crossover characters in the fourth season. Klaus’s daughter Hope will be much older since the series will return five years after Marcel regained control of New Orleans.

In the trailer, Hope is eager to meet her father and the reunion is probably going to be one of the most epic scenes in The Originals Season 4. Hope is still a mystery but we can expect her to be the answer to the Mikaelson family returning to prominence.

The Originals Season 3, we saw Klaus Mikaelson do something selfless for once and sacrifice himself for his family. Although he is not dead, he is in a world of pain as Papa Tunde’s blade, which Marcel impaled him with is a source of constant pain and suffering. Freya created a safe haven for the Mikaelson family and Hayley has the responsibility to help find a solution.

While Marcel is the only one that did right by Davina, many fans still see him as the villain. There is no doubt that Klaus will be plotting his revenge on Marcel but the original vampire is sleek and will wait for the right opportunity.

Joseph Morgan, who plays Klaus, teased The Originals Season 4 on Instagram. He said that someone will be betrayed and they will be a staking of some sort. Morgan also states that friends will become enemies and enemies will become friends. While this is vague, it suggests that he may work with Marcel again.

Hope will be the anchor of Niklaus’s humanity and it is likely that she will understand the sacrifice he made for the family if she is eager to meet him. Therefore, Hayley did not raise her to hate her father and you can expect them to form a bond very quickly.

Christina Moses is joining Season 4 of The Originals and she will play a bisexual werewolf who is a prisoner of the Mikaelson family; however, she will be rebellious. TVLine breaks down the interesting character:

“Moses’ character, Keelin, is a smart, strong resourceful ER doctor – and the last living werewolf of her line. She’s also openly bisexual. After the rest of her family was hunted to extinction, she went into hiding and since then she’s deliberately avoided getting too close to anyone. She lives in fear of being discovered by the wrong people and has no idea that she’s currently on a collision course with the Mikaelsons.”

It’s important to remember solitude and suffering is the one thing Klaus feared the most; therefore, it is hard to predict whether he will come out a bigger monster than he was before or whether hope will return his humanity.

So how will Hayley help save Klaus? According to TVLine, she will have to find the seven werewolf packs and it is not going to be easy. As a hybrid, she will have to use her werewolf side to round up the factions.

Julie Plec also explained why Cami and Davina had to die:

“You start to feel a redundancy of heroes. If you continue down a certain storyline, you’ll end up taking people in a direction that will isolate them. You get the urge to mix things up and to make things very tragic … so that you can always feel fresh, and you don’t have nine people telling the same story. … We needed to pull the family as tightly together as possible, and excise some of the characters who might conflict with [that plan].”
