Just call Selena Gomez the Queen of Instagram. The “Kill ‘Em with Kindness” pop princess is killing them with her Instagram videos and photos, and even her best friend Taylor Swift and super-successful Beyonce can’t compete when it comes to Selena’s runaway success on Instagram. Recently revived after a hiatus, Gomez has been making her comeback both on social media and on the red carpet, where she recently slayed at the American Music Awards. But when it comes to the magic that earned her the Instagram Queen crown, the songstress is showing her followers that warmth, wit, and wisdom are winners.
When it comes to the statistics, the 24-year-old “Good For You” crooner won for having the most-followed celebrity account, with what ET termed “crazy popular photos and videos.”
And no, it wasn’t her ex-boyfriend Justin Bieber who teamed up with Selena to result in her most viral video of the year. Instead, it was this adorable video of her delightfully dancing with Audrey Nethery, a 7-year-old who has earned fame in her own right as an internet sensation.
“Finally got to meet this sweetheart -she owned it fully,” wrote Gomez in her caption.
Not too far behind that sweet video clip comes a very cheeky clip, celebrating Fourth of July.

When it comes to statistics, the pop princess reaped 103 million followers to earn the title as the celebrity with the most followers on Instagram. Taylor Swift is in second place with 93.9 million, trailed by Ariana Grande at 90.2 million, and Beyonce with 89.2 million. Making it to the top five Instagram stars list is Kim Kardashian West with 88.2 million followers.
“Likes” count too, however, and when it comes to the top 10 most-liked celebrity Instagram posts of 2016, Selena was a runaway winner with eight.
Gomez didn’t neglect to show her sense of humor in her most popular videos and celebrating National Donut Day provided some icing on her Instagram sweetness.
A teaser for her “Kill ‘Em With Kindness” video also slayed, with the clip garnering 12.8 million views and excitement from her devoted Instagram fans.
In addition to those popular videos, Selena showered her Instagram fans with photos, capturing everything from her most sultry to her most relaxed moments.

People pointed out that the “top 10 celebrity posts of Instagram in 2016 [are] all either Selena Gomez or Cristiano Ronaldo posts,” and the two also rank as number one and two when it comes to the “most followers gained in 2016? category.
Selena attracted more than 50 million followers, while Ronaldo scored over 42 million. As for the pop princess’ most popular post of the year?
Her most popular photo, garnering 5.2 million likes, is an advertisement for Coke. Selena rocks a red dress, looking super sexy as she sips through a red-striped straw, which she holds with impressively long, red fingernails.
In second place when it comes to Selena’s Instagram photos is a loving moment with a fan, noted Us Weekly.
“One of my favorite nights on tour,” she wrote about her meeting with a fan during her “Revival” tour.
That picture earned 4.2 million likes.
In third place, Gomez showed her sexy side in a photo shoot.
The picture in June showed her striking a pose in a denim bodysuit, receiving more than 4 million likes.

Following her hiatus, Selena recently returned to Instagram, and she expressed her appreciation to those fans in her first post after her break.
