‘Vanderpump Rules’ Scheana Marie Files For Divorce From Mike Shay After Two Years Of Marriage

Scheana Marie of Vanderpump Rules filed for divorce on Wednesday, November 30, in Los Angeles after just two years of marriage.

Amid reports claiming her husband Mike Shay may be off the wagon after several months of living clean, Scheana Marie released a statement and confirmed her plans to end her marriage.

“We might have failed at our marriage, but we are committed to succeeding as friends and will continue to support each other’s personal happiness and professional success,” the reality star said in a statement to TMZ on November 30.

According to the TMZ report, Mike Shay reportedly went missing earlier this month after Scheana Marie claimed the musician had allegedly emptied their bank account. Because Shay has openly battled addiction in the past, Scheana Marie then feared he may have suffered an alleged drug relapse.

TMZ noted that Mike Shay claims he’s been sober since January.

Scheana Marie and Mike Shay released a joint statement confirming their plans for divorce to Us Weekly on November 30.

“While we have made the difficult decision to move forward separately, our story will continue on through the love and mutual respect that we have cultivated throughout our 15-year friendship,” their statement read. “Much of the recent speculation and reporting on our relationship has been misguided, and we have come to an amicable decision on all matters.”

When fans were first pulled into the loop of Scheana Marie’s life, she was known as one of the mistresses of Eddie Cibrian, the former husband of Brandi Glanville and current husband of LeAnn Rimes. As fans will recall, Rimes and Cibrian engaged in an affair in 2009 on the set of their Lifetime movie, Northern Lights. However, while the relationship came as a surprise to Cibrian’s then-wife, Glanville, the romance was also a shock to Scheana Marie, who was also involved with Cibrian during his marriage to Glanville.

While Glanville was seen discussing the matter with her co-stars during episodes of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills after joining the series as a “friend” during Season 2, Glanville ultimately met with Scheana Marie on camera during a crossover episode between The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and Vanderpump Rules, which kicked off the series in 2013.

Although Scheana Marie started off her Bravo reality career discussing her former relationship with Cibrian, her relationship with Mike Shay ultimately took center stage on Vanderpump Rules and during Season 2, the couple became engaged at the home of her boss, friend and co-star, Lisa Vanderpump. Then, one season later, Scheana Marie and Mike Shay got married at the Hummingbird Nest Ranch in Southern California surrounded by friends, family, and their co-stars.

During Vanderpump Rules Season 4, Scheana Marie and Mike Shay began to face marital struggles, which Scheana claimed on the show were the rest of his use of prescription pills and the alleged use of excessive alcohol.

Although Scheana Marie has not said much in regard to the end of her marriage on social media, Mike Shay denied reports claiming he had gone missing on Instagram.

“I am not missing. I am sober. I am Happy!!! Don’t believe everything you read,” he wrote in a post to fans in early November. “I love my wife and will always love my wife. Whatever is going on between us will stay between us! I love my family and my family loves me and a lot of things have been said out is protection and anger by many people. I just ready for the next chapter in my life!”
