Tamar Braxton Replaced: Is Evelyn Lozada ‘The Real’s’ New Permanent Co-Host?

Tamar Braxton was sensationally fired from her co-hosting gig on daytime talk show The Real back in May, but it looks like the Fox show could potentially now have found a permanent replacement for Braxton’s vacant seat.

While Tamar’s former co-hosts Adrienne Bailon, Tamera Mowry-Housley, Loni Love, and Jeannie Mai have been surrounded by guest co-hosts since Season 3 of the talk show premiered without Braxton in September, which hasn’t sat too well with the Braxton Family Values star, fans of the series are now speculating that The Real could have a new permanent co-host to take over from Tamar.

The new co-host speculation hit fever pitch after Gossip On This claimed that Basketball Wives star Evelyn Lozada appeared to hint that the could be announced as Tamar’s replacement and The Real’s new permanent co-host on December 1.

Evelyn made the big tease that she could potentially be taking over Tamar’s seat on The Real on Instagram on November 29 by uploading a photo of herself, which she captioned, “I have a HUGE Announcement to make on December 1st! Can you guess what it is?”

Lozada did not allude to The Real in her snap or caption, though, as reported by The Shade Room, fans were quick to notice that there was some continuity between the background and font on Evelyn’s picture and the house style The Real uses for its own Instagram posts.

The Shade Room posted a screen shot of Evelyn’s tease next to a post recently uploaded by The Real, which showed both used a similar background and the same purple font, suggesting that the show could potentially have found its new permanent co-host almost seven months after Tamar was fired.

Tamar Braxton’s former co-host Adrienne Bailon, who grew famously close to Tamar on the show before she and the Braxton Family Values star then became locked in a nasty feud following her firing, then added even more fuel to the permanent co-host fire by allegedly liking Evelyn Lozada’s post on the social media site.

But while Lozada’s tease could potentially be alluding to a guest co-hosting spot on The Real rather than a permanent spot following Braxton’s firing, or could have nothing to do with the series at all, that didn’t stop Evelyn and The Real’s fans from getting pretty excited about Lozada potentially joining Tamar’s former show on social media.

“I think Evelyn would be good on The Real. I thought she was over her Basketball Wives days,” Twitter user @CurvesinColor tweeted out of Evelyn potentially serving as Braxton’s The Real replacement, while @HollywoodJustin tweeted, “That’s dope Evelyn is gonna be the new person on The Real.”

The Real is yet to comment on the speculation that Lozada could be replacing Tamar, though Braxton’s former co-star Loni Love, who Tamar has made no secret of her feud with following her firing, previously confirmed that the show was looking for a fifth co-host to take over Tamar’s vacated position on the series.

Back in July, Love confirmed that those behind the scenes were looking for a new co-host to replace Tamar, but claimed that she and her co-hosts “don’t know who they’re going to choose” to fill Braxton’s shoes.

Love then admitted in a later appearance on The Tom Joyner Morning Show that The Real was considering bringing in guest co-hosts until a replacement for Braxton was found, which has since come to fruition as stars including Eve and Monica have taken over Tamar’s seat as weekly guest co-hosts in the weeks that have followed the Season 3 premiere.

“Let me say this about season three of The Real, we want to thank the fans for supporting us. Season three is going to be phenomenal,” Loni said in August of The Real’s return to TV, marking its first season to air without Braxton, who had appeared on the show since it first began in 2013.

“I know there are a lot of changes that are happening,” Loni continued when asked about how the daytime talk show would differ without Tamar, before adding long before Lozada’s name was thrown into the mix as Braxton’s possible replacement that “Warner Brothers is making the decision of what they want to do as far as a co-host. I think it’ll be guest co-hosts.”
