How Is Kanye West? ‘Paranoid, Depressed, And Terrified’ According To Brother Hal Carmichael
The world knows by now that Kanye West was hospitalized last week. Rap superstar West had a meltdown at a concert in Sacramento and then canceled all remaining dates on his tour. As was reported by the Inquisitr, Kanye was admitted to the hospital the following day. West was admitted, against his will according to some sources, suffering from exhaustion and sleep deprivation. Kanye remained in hospital over the Thanksgiving holiday and his wife, Kim Kardashian West, has been almost constantly by his side. West has now been hospitalized for more than one week.
Little information has been released about the state of Kanye’s health, but TMZ reports that the anniversary of his mother’s death was what finally pushed West over the edge. Apparently, Kanye was a “powder keg of emotions” in the weeks leading up to his hospitalization. Sleep deprivation, the pressure of touring, and the shock of Kim Kardashian’s Paris robbery all affected West’s mental state. All of these issues, combined with the anniversary of his mother’s death, eventually proved too much for Kanye to cope with.
According to People magazine Kanye is still in the hospital because he “is not doing well.” They claim that he has become so paranoid that Kim Kardashian West is the only person Kanye will trust.
“[Kanye always has] big ups and big downs, but this bout seems to be much more serious. In the hospital he has been very paranoid and is under constant watch for his safety.
“Kim does spend hours with Kanye every day. She says that Kanye is on many different medications and that his doctors are figuring out proper doses. Kim says that not much has changed since he was admitted and that his doctors seem concerned.”
So What Does Kanye’s Brother Say?
It seems that West’s paranoia may have intensified after Kim K was robbed in Paris. According to the Sun Kanye’s brother, Hal Carmichael, claims that West is so traumatized that he fears for his life.
“No one thought Paris would happen in a million years and now he’s seen it happen to Kim, it’s traumatising. Yes he’s tired, he’s hurt, he feels betrayed and he’s probably feeling depressed.
“It’s like who can he trust? You can’t trust anyone, even the people you’ve been paying to protect you. They haven’t been doing their jobs correctly. I think Kanye got to a point when he was fearing for his life and for his family’s safety because of what went down in Paris – I think it took a toll on him.
“He ends up walking about worrying and thinking, who’s going to do what to me?”
If Kanye is feeling paranoid, online speculation about “Pizzagate” won’t have helped. It was reported by the Inquisitr last week that there had been online speculation that West was about to blow the whistle on Pizzagate. Some people believed that Kanye had been hospitalized, against his will, to keep him quiet. Oddly, images have emerged of Kim Kardashian with Marina Abramovic, the woman behind the “Spirit Cooking” aspects of Pizzagate.
With Kanye having been in the hospital for over a week now, Billboard has spoken to some mental health experts, none of whom have any experience of Kanye’s case, to ask why West might have been in hospital for so long. Dr. Jody Rawles, a psychiatrist from the University of California, outlined some of the issues that Kanye could be facing.
“Physical exhaustion and sleep deprivation can lead to erratic, psychotic and paranoid thinking and many performers and other professionals don’t get enough sleep.
“Certainly someone who has a lot of pressure to perform, present [their art], do interviews and be seen can feel a lot of pressure. If the alleged reason for admission is dehydration and exhaustion, part of keeping someone hospitalized for a longer period is to figure out if that is all that’s going on.”
It may well be that Kanye will remain in the hospital for some time yet. No medical professional would want to see a patient remain in the hospital unless they needed to be there.
