It’s always fun pulling out old archive footage of some of our favorite celebs to see how far they’ve come, and heartthrob Ryan Gosling is no exception.

And yes, just like season cast-mates Britney Spears, Justin Timberlake, and Christina Aguilera, all of that 12-year-old Gosling footage is still out there.
In the case of the video posted below, morning news show Canada AM unearthed the clip to help celebrate their 40th anniversary. The show dug up vintage interviews with Drake, Alanis Morissette, and Avril Lavigne, but arguably the best entry they were able to find is of a 12-year-old Ryan Gosling, interviewed just after his casting on Mickey Mouse Club.

“I hit the roof. It was so fun,” Gosling said when asked about beating 15,000 others for the role. “My mother and I, we were just like jumping around … It was amazing.”
Perhaps unsurprisingly, Gosling was as classy then as he is now, with nothing but nice things to say about his employers:
“The people of Disney are so incredibly amazing they are so nice. They treated us like we were kings and queens.” he said.
Don’t worry, I won’t keep you any longer. I introduce to you 12-year-old Ryan Gosling:
