‘Bachelor In Paradise’ Couple Lace Morris And Grant Kemp End Relationship: What Went Wrong?

When Bachelor in Paradise ended this past season with three engagements, it seemed highly unlikely that all three couples would make it down the aisle. It only took less than three months from the season finale air date for popular couple Lace Morris and Grant Kemp, also known as “Grace,” to be the first to end their relationship. Fans of the couple are disappointed with the news that Lace and Grant have split up. What caused their break-up?

Entertainment Tonight shared the initial news that Lace and Grant had split. Morris says the decision to end their engagement was mutual and that the two will remain friends. Lace moved out of the couple’s San Francisco home and back to Denver within the past few days. Lace and Grant moved in together rather quickly after becoming engaged. People shared the news just one day after the Paradise finale aired that Lace had already moved in with Grant.

After already leaving San Francisco, Lace said the following about their split.

“We both have our issues we need to work on, and we can’t really give each other what we need at this time. It’s just not the right timing. We have so much love for each other, and it’s weird because the chemistry is there, and I’m thinking, ‘Why can’t we make this work?’ But it’s just not possible right now.”

Both Lace and Grant admit they had their fair share of issues in the relationship.

“For a month, we were kind of starting to bicker, and it was a thing of, something’s got to give. It was a cycle we couldn’t break.

“I think he’s an amazing man,” she added.

Lace also said she was very sad their relationship was over, but that she knew it was what was best for them at this time.

Grant also weighed in on the break-up.

“There were things we were trying to work on that we expected to get better with time, and unfortunately it kind of went the opposite way,” he said.

Kemp also shared that he has a huge respect for Lace.

“She’s a great person,” he admitted. Grant also says he has no regrets about going on Paradise.

“I don’t regret going on the show. It kind of fast-forwarded our whole situation. We figured everything out now that it takes most people a couple years to figure out.”

While neither Lace, nor Grant can predict the future, both are not exactly ready to put “Grace” behind them. After all, they did get matching “Grace” tattoos on their wrists during the filming of Bachelor in Paradise. What will happen to those permanent tattoos? TMZ is reporting that Lace has no intention of getting rid of her tattoo. Lace says she had always intended to get a souvenir tattoo of her time on BIP and it also reminds her of her good memories with Grant.

While Lace and Grant won’t rule out getting back together in the future, Kemp believes the odds are against that happening. Grant says he knows who Lace is though.

“That’s the person I wanted to marry.” When asked about a reconciliation Lace says, “I could only pray or hope that there is a future with us. I see one, but I just don’t know when.”

Grant and Lace met on Season 3 of Bachelor in Paradise. They had a rocky start to their relationship, but pushed through the tough times and decided to commit to one another in a big way on the season finale. Fans have believed in their love since the beginning and are saddened by their split. Lace and Grant are both open to the possibility of reality television once again, even after the way things have played out for them both.

Bachelor in Paradise will return next summer, but in the meantime fans won’t want to miss the upcoming new season of The Bachelor. Nick Viall will be trying to find love for the fourth time on the show and his must-see season premieres on January 2 on ABC.
