‘This Is Us’ Spoilers: Rebecca’s Betrayal Of Randall Goes Deep As She And Jack Argue Over William

After last week’s emotional Thanksgiving episode, the latest This is Us spoilers suggest that Rebecca’s betrayal of Randall goes a lot deeper than we all originally thought. After Randall discovered that Rebecca knew his biological father, William, and kept it a secret for all these years, tonight’s episode of This is Us suggests that Rebecca’s reasoning, while noble, only indicates more of a betrayal than we all previously thought!

According to People Magazine‘s latest This is Us spoilers, Jack (Milo Ventimiglia) and Rebecca (Mandy Moore) will be seen fighting this week over Randall finally meeting his biological father now that he is older. While Jack believes that Randall (Lonnie Chavis and Sterling K. Brown) should know where he came from, thus getting a better idea of who he is and learning more about his place in the world, Rebecca is against the idea of even trying.

For his part, Jack is seen trying to find positive black men for his son, Randall, to look up to, and he wants his son to know more about who he is and where he comes from.

Meanwhile, the latest round of This is Us spoilers courtesy of Entertainment Weekly suggest that we’ll be meeting an old friend of William’s named Jessie, played by American Horror Story alum Denis O’Hare. The outlet recently sat down with show creator Dan Fogelman, who mentioned that O’Hare’s character would serve to give some depth to William (played by Ron Cephas Jones), since they met each other in Narcotics Anonymous.

“William on Christmas Eve returns home to take care of some stuff back at home, and through his old buddy, we get to learn more about William. It’s not what the episode is about, but because people have been asking, he holds the answer to what has happened to William’s cat.”

Finally, the latest round of This is Us spoilers from TV Guide suggest that we’ll find out why, precisely, Rebecca sent the letter with Randall’s photo to William all those years ago.

We’ll recall that it was this letter and photo that Randall discovered last week, and it was the letter and photo that set off a cavalcade of emotions in Randall that ultimately led to a rather unhappy Pearson family Thanksgiving.

And this week, we’ll find out why, exactly, Rebecca did what she did, which will make her betrayal even worse.

“Rebecca’s motives for keeping William a secret, even when young Randall began asking about him, also become a little clearer by the end of the episode. But they aren’t enough to justify what she did to her adopted son.”

This is Us has been picked up for a full 18 episodes after originally only meant to be a mid-season replacement. The show follows the lives of three people whose lives are inextricably intertwined, as both biological and adopted siblings. The show takes place in New York City, suburban New Jersey, and Los Angeles. The flashback episodes take place in Pittsburgh, PA.
