Kim Kardashian’s Robbery Gave Kanye West Nightmares Before He Was Hospitalized

Kim Kardashian’s Paris robbery continues to cause undue emotional distress to the entire Kardashian family, and even more so to her husband Kanye West.

According to US Weekly, the 39-year-old West “was having nightmares” about his wife Kim Kardashian’s Paris robbery for weeks before he suffered a mental breakdown and got hospitalized.

“He’s been shaken up ever since the robbery in Paris. It did a number on him as much as Kim,” the insider tells US Weekly.“The mere thought that anything could happen to her sent him in a tailspin. He wasn’t sleeping and he was having nightmares about it.”

As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Kanye West was taken to the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center on November 21 after suffering a mental breakdown at his personal trainer’s home in Los Angeles. West was reportedly behaving so “erratically” that he was “handcuffed to a gurney during the transport to the hospital.”

The news of West’s hospitalization came hours after he canceled the 21 remaining stops in his “Saint Pablo Tour.” The “Famous” rapper also got himself involved in another controversy during his show in California, in which he went on a long tirade about Beyonce and Jay-Z, signaling that all is not well with the American rapper.

So what made Kanye snap? According to the insider, Kim Kardashian’s robbery in Paris caused so much trauma that the reality star decided not to join her husband on his U.S. tour. Used to always having Kim around on his tours, West reportedly had a difficult time coping.

“He really couldn’t do his shows without her around,” the source says. “That’s what made him worse. He didn’t want to be away from her … [The robbery] was just as hard for him, but he tried to keep going. He would never have canceled the tour unless things were bad.”

The source added that Kim Kardashian’s robbery, in which she was robbed of more than $10 million in jewelry while being tied up and held at gunpoint inside her luxurious residence in Paris, triggered West’s breakdown.

“The robbery triggered everything,” the source says. “Kim is his family and the only family he really has now. They took him in and embraced him. So seeing Kim traumatized did a major number on him.”

Another source told People that Kanye West had a long history of personal struggles and erratic behavior in the past, but not having Kim around made it much worse for him.

“In the past, he snapped back quickly. This has been going on for years,” the insider recalls. “In the past when Kanye seemed to struggle, no one took it too seriously. The attitude was more like it was just Kanye being Kanye. After going through a few rough days, things would go back to normal. This time is much different.”

The source continues, “Without having Kim by his side during the tour as planned, Kanye wasn’t able to snap back. Kim being absent because of her own struggles seems to be why things are different with Kanye this time.”

According to an insider, Kim rarely left her husband’s bedside since he got hospitalized and was instrumental in nursing him back to health. Kardashian reportedly slept by Kanye’s side and helped feed him. The reality star also spent several hours with him in the hospital on Thanksgiving morning before heading to Kylie Jenner’s home for a family Thanksgiving dinner.

“Kim has been amazing,” the source said. “She knew he couldn’t keep going the way he was. She has been by his side through all of this.”

Contrary to some reports, Hollywood Life claims that there’s no release date for Kanye West yet as he is still being treated for paranoia.
