Lauren Bushnell Happy ‘Ben & Lauren: Happily Ever After’ Didn’t Air ‘Fake Wedding’ To Save Show After Ratings Flop

The Bachelor couple Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell confirmed that they have called off their wedding in one of the recent episodes of Ben & Lauren: Happily Ever After. Ben and Lauren, however, insisted that the two of them are still happily engaged. But a new report claimed that Lauren was actually happy that they didn’t air a “fake wedding” just to keep the fans happy.

According to Life & Style magazine, Ben Higgins and Lauren Bushnell were constantly bickering for months, which eventually led to the couple’s split. The site also claimed that Ben & Lauren: Happily Ever After‘s dismal ratings also inevitably contributed to the break up. An insider close to the couple revealed that they were partly trying to make the relationship work since it would be good for the show. Given, however, that the Freeform series only had an average of 300,000 viewers, The Bachelor stars don’t have high hopes for renewal.

“They were banking on it being a huge hit and it completely flopped. After that, Lauren told Ben she’d had it with their relationship. They hoped the show would be a massive opportunity to cash in.”

It was allegedly Lauren who called off the engagement and the break up will air on the show’s season finale. In spite of their relationship not working out, the source held that the former flight attendant was actually happy that they didn’t end up getting married. Some predicted that Ben and Lauren would accept E!’s offer to do a special just so they could cash in the big bucks.

“Lauren wishes she could have found her happily ever after but she’s thankful she didn’t air a fake wedding to the whole world.”

During one of the recent episodes of Ben & Lauren: Happily Ever After, Ben Higgins admitted that he was having cold feet. He, however, insisted that this does not mean that he’s having doubts about Lauren. He just wanted to make sure that they are in the right place in their relationship. Ben also told Chris Harrison that a wedding is definitely happening in the future. It’s not just going to be soon.

“I’m scared about what our relationship really is. I’m not scared about Lauren and that is why I told her I have zero doubts that we will get married. I don’t question that for a second. I just want to make sure that when she’s walking down the aisle towards me that, ‘This is it. This is the moment.’ From then on, we start marriage in a healthy place and not from a place that still has a lot of stress and a lot of questions.”

While clearly upset with Ben’s decision to call off the wedding, Lauren told Chris that she’s standing by Ben’s side through it all. She said that even though she’s ready to marry Ben, she’s not going to force him to take the next step when he’s not ready.

But what made things even harder for Lauren is how easy Ben can pretend that everything’s okay when their relationship is far from perfect. The Bachelor alum got upset with how Ben was able to talk about their wedding plans with the press without consulting her first.

“You didn’t say ‘I’m gonna move the wedding to August.’ You told me its called off. That’s like a big difference and it’s very different how you answered some of the questions. It puts me in a weird spot because I have to go along with it when I’m not okay,” she told Ben.
