Angelina Jolie Turns To Chain Smoking After Brad Pitt Divorce [Debunked]
Angelina Jolie is not chain smoking cigarettes after her divorce with Brad Pitt. The false rumor was started by Radar Online, a source that has published several false stories about the couple in the past.
“Where there’s smoke, there’s Angelina Jolie! RadarOnline.com has exclusively learned that the rail-thin actress is so ‘stressed out’ over her bitter divorce battle with Brad Pitt she’s smoking like a chimney.”
The article adds that instead of eating, Angelina Jolie is smoking cigarettes. Radar Online thinks it’s quite ironic that Jolie is smoking, especially since her mother died of cancer (although it was not lung cancer). The commenters after the article don’t show much sympathy for Jolie.
“I hope the judge gives Brad full custody,” claims Purple Bottle.
“Imagine going through all that surgery to prevent her kids losing their mother young, only to die of lung cancer,” another commenter says.
However, Gossip Cop reveals that the story is a complete lie.
“Angelina Jolie is NOT chain-smoking cigarettes amid the drama involving her divorce from Brad Pitt, despite a bogus webloid report. Gossip Cop can exclusively bust this claim. We’re told it’s not true,” says columnist Andrew Shuster, who adds that a reliable source close to Jolie claims they have never smelled or seen cigarettes at her home.
This was the second false rumor this week regarding Angelina Jolie. The print edition of In Touch reported that Brad Pitt will use Angelina Jolie’s psychiatric records against her in the divorce. Gossip Cop summarized their story.
“These issues are well behind Jolie, but that hasn’t stopped In Touch from publishing a false report claiming Pitt is using these ‘secrets’ in their custody battle. Of course, there’s nothing secretive about any of this information…The magazine’s seemingly phony insider further purports that Jolie’s old psych records will provide the foundation and a road map for the judge to rely on.”
Gossip Cop noted that In Touch also recycled the narrative that Jolie initiated the divorce over rumors Brad Pitt had been hooking up with French actress Marion Cotillard and said that Jolie had many breakdowns over her suspicions about the affair with his Allied co-star. However, Gossip Cop says that the story is complete bogus.
“Brad Pitt is NOT using Angelina Jolie’s 16-year-old psychiatric records to win custody of their six kids, despite an inaccurate tabloid cover story. Gossip Cop can exclusively correct this claim. We’re told it’s not true,” says gossip-busting columnist Andrew Shuster, who adds that a reliable source says that mental health evaluations of both parents are completely standard.
There is one story that didn’t end up being a rumor. Brad Pitt did not spend Thanksgiving with Angelina Jolie and their kids. Us Weekly reported on this the day before the holiday.
“No shared turkey this year. Brad Pitt won’t be celebrating Thanksgiving with Angelina Jolie and their six kids, contrary to reports, multiple sources confirm to Us Weekly. ‘Angelina did not invite Brad to spend Thanksgiving with their kids,’ a source tells Us.”
The article adds that Pitt has only seen the couple’s children (Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, Knox, and Vivienne) three times since Jolie filed for divorce on September 19. Pitt and Jolie have been together for more than 10 years, but they have only been married for two. The Jolie-Pitt divorce is still the talk of Twitter.
