‘NCIS’ Season 14 Spoilers: Agent Fornell Is Coming Back Very Soon

NCIS fans of Agent Fornell won’t have to wait too long for the character’s return. He will appear in an upcoming episode, sharing Christmas dinner with (former?) roommate of Agent Gibbs.

FBI Agent Fornell has been a popular character from his first appearance in the early days of NCIS. He became a pain in the backside for Gibbs, but they had a love/hate relationship that was perfectly shown on screen. Over the years, Fornell has become more like a friend or even a brother to Gibbs, and they certainly have that sibling relationship.

In the NCIS Season 13 finale, Fornell was shot, and fans instantly panicked that the show was going to kill him off. In the Season 14 premiere, it was revealed that he did definitely survive and that he was living with Gibbs while he recovered. He hasn’t been seen since the third episode of the season, and fans have questioned his whereabouts. Is he still living with Gibbs or is he back on duty?

The answer to the question is still largely unknown. All that we do know is that Agent Fornell will return to NCIS Season 14 very soon. He will be in the winter finale episode, which will air on December 13. This episode, as with previous years, will be Christmas focused and Fornell will have dinner with Gibbs, suggesting that they are still living together. The Christian Times states that the synopsis just says that Fornell will be back to spend the Christmas holiday with Gibbs in the NCIS episode. It is unclear whether he will return for any more episodes after this.

NCIS isn’t just bringing Fornell back. A young Ducky will also appear in an upcoming episode. This will occur due to Ducky’s late mother being involved in a case with a Navy chaplain in an upcoming episode. Adam Campbell will reprise the role as the young doctor.

Despite these returning characters, there is nothing about a certain other missed character. Fans have missed Tony DiNozzo, who left the show in the NCIS Season 13 finale. Michael Weatherly decided to move onto other projects, and that move did mean that he got his own CBS show, Bull. While NCIS introduced two new characters and promoted a third to series regularly, some fans have tuned out of the show, and ratings have dropped.

There are currently many cancellation rumors doing the rounds. Wilmer Valderrama and Jennifer Esposito haven’t impressed enough viewers in their roles of Agent Nick Torres and Agent Alex Quinn respectively. MIG Agent Clayton Reeves hasn’t done enough after being promoted to series regular, either. However, all the cancellation rumors are just rumors. There is no confirmation of the future for NCIS yet, but CBS did renew it for Seasons 14 and 15 last year, suggesting that there will be at least one more year.

The show has tried to focus a little more on the personal lives of the characters in recent episodes. Two weeks ago, Tony DiNozzo Sr. showed up to lease out his son’s apartment. While Torres’ name was pulled out of a hat, McGee eventually gained it.

Meanwhile, Ellie Bishop’s love and family lives became the main focus of this week’s episode. Despite no lead up to the speculation over her love life, the episode focused mostly on working out whether Reeves or Torres had been the one to steal her heart. In the end, she revealed it was neither of them but was someone she works with now and then.

NCIS Season 14 is on a week break this week. The show will continue on December 6 with “Pay to Play, ” and then Fornell will return the week after in the winter finale.
